Selected User Reviews For Fox 40 Classic Whistle
For recess duty at my school, I purchased this whistle. I used to have a $5 whistle from Walmart that made a question mark sound when I blew it. With my fox 40, I'm now taken more seriously. My peers have noticed, and my principal even approached me and said she'd like to give me a raise, but we both realized I was a teacher, so that didn't happen. Regardless, thank you, Fox 40!.
It's a lot better than the typical whistle you'd find in a sporting goods store or a big-box retailer. I tried this whistle for the first time in my front yard, and I could feel the loud SPL in my ears. SPLs of around 115 dB are claimed by the manufacturer, which I believe. br>br>NOW, because of my strong lungs, I am getting a little louder; as a sound engineer and DJ who has worked in that field for over 30 years, outside of my day-to-day driving job, I am pretty good at estimating how loud different sounds can get, and I get whistles from this around 120 to 125 db. br>br>When I first bought this whistle, it was with the intention of using it at work. After I was laid off from my job as a transportation driver at Tampa International Airport, I decided to pursue other opportunities. When I left the airport and started a new job as a school bus driver, I needed a loud enough whistle to get the students' attention when I needed to talk to them about anything if they didn't respond to my already loud voice; this whistle gets their attention REALLY quickly and gets them to quiet down in a timely manner when I needed to address them. *NOISY SCHOOL BUS* A couple of quick sharp bursts on this whistle, and the students fall silent. That was QUICK! br>br>However, using this whistle on the school bus isn't the only thing I do with it. I have a 20-foot flats boat with no horn, and buying airhorn cans on a regular basis can be expensive, especially if you use them a lot. According to Coast Guard regulations, I must have some sort of sound emitting device on my boat, and a whistle is an acceptable option because it is loud enough to signal your actions while piloting a vessel. br>br>For the price and intended use, this is an excellent purchase for my requirements. Hey, if the NFL uses these types of ref whistles, you know it's a good product.
I was devastated when I lost my old fox 40. I used an old metal whistle I found at work, which I despised both in terms of feel and sound. br>br>The fox 40 classic is extremely easy to operate. It has a piercing and loud sound. Basketball and track and field are two of my coaching responsibilities. It's loud enough for track and piercing enough to cut through the echoes of a claustrophobic gym. br>br>While it is piercing, I find it to be far less painful and annoying than many other whistles. Honestly, I'm not sure why you'd get anything other than a fox 40 classic if you need a whistle.
She didn't put much effort into it, puffing halfheartedly and declaring it wasn't very loud. In my attempt, I gave it my all, and the result was ear-splitting. I'm never going to use it again in my house! Outside, the noise is still deafening. There isn't a louder mouth blown whistle that I'm aware of. br>We chose these because of the two-tone effect. I wanted something loud and distinctive so that my dog could recognize it from afar. I use it every time I take him for a walk so that he is familiar with the sound. We had just returned from Acadia National Park, and I was confident that if he managed to flee, he would track us down using these whistles. They'd also be useful in an emergency. Great product! These are exactly what we were looking for.
It can produce high sound levels, making it ideal for large outdoor venues. It's also great for quick, clear tweets, making it easier to signal and listen to the guards! I can't say enough good things about these; they're fantastic!.
This whistle is fantastic for sports officials. Please take a look at some of the reports on the dangers of repeated exposure to such loud whistles. Hearing loss occurs over time. br>br>Clearly, the whistle manufacturer is not to blame. br>br>Due to the fact that not only was I blowing my whistle, but so were the other officers. I spent the money on high-quality custom-made earplugs, which made a huge difference. br>br>PSA over, if you're looking for a high-quality whistle with a simple design and a loud sound, look no further. You've found it. It's also a whistle that's simple to maintain.
It's loud enough to obliterate your hearing. Loud. It doesn't take up a lot of room. I believe I've seen this to be the second loudest whistle ever made. A marine rescue whistle, designed to be attached to a life jacket for rescue at sea, is the loudest. It's large enough that if no one comes to save you, you can fill it up with air, crawl inside, and wait until you wash up on the beach. This whistle is more convenient for me because it can be attached to your keychain and carried in your pocket. br>br>It takes a little practice to blow, but it's not difficult. Don't simply blow it away. Block the air with your tongue, blow out to build pressure, and then pull in your tongue to "Pop" the air. Take a look at a basketball game and hear how the referee's whistle sounds. It's because this whistle works in this manner. Sharp, piercing, and loud br>br>And if you still can't figure it out, ask one of the refs at your local basketball or soccer team. They're going to demonstrate it to you.
Quite a bit of noise. The volume varies from extremely loud to excruciatingly painful. Because, unlike some whistles, a gentle puff does not result in a subdued whistle, it may not be suitable for certain applications such as refereeing sports or indoor use. However, if you need to be heard over a long distance, such as in a search and rescue situation, it's ideal.
