Questions & Answers
It's probably possible to get rid of it, but it won't fit on a vintage Fox 40. This one has a recessed area where the CMG is located.
The purple shown here is the traditional purple. Both the sonic pink and the purple classic are in my collection.

Selected User Reviews For Fox 40 Classic CMG Whistle
One of the most well-known whistles available. The Fox 40 is a very loud and distinct speaker, and anyone who buys it will not be disappointed. There have been a few reviews claiming that the Fox 40 they received did not sound right; however, there is a method for achieving that distinct sound. I recommend either a short but powerful blast or, as I do, pretending to be eating sunflower seeds and wanting to spit one out. When blowing quickly, use your tongue to block the whistle opening, then quickly remove your tongue to allow air to forcefully pass through the whistle, then quickly replace your tongue to stop the airflow for that sharp, distinct Fox 40 sound. This will produce the distinct and recognizable sound that most water parks, pools, and sporting events are known for. I hope this information is useful.
So. There are three more fox 40 whistles in my collection. My son is a JR Ref and I coach soccer. My other sonic boom neon yellow whistle is incredibly loud, and it does so without hesitation. This whistle is strange; five people have tried blowing it and none of them have been successful. It's so quiet and strange that you don't hear it at all. Mine has to be faulty or a bad copy, in my opinion. This appealed to me because it is red, which is my son's favorite color.
I use it at work to keep an eye on kids during recess, and even at maximum volume, no one heard or noticed the whistle. I'll have to go out and get a new one. It was a complete waste of money.
I thought this was broken at first because I didn't blow hard enough. Then I give it a good blow, and bam, that was a lot of noise. It came with a lanyard, which I like. The one I bought was white, and over the course of a month, it became dirty and now has stains all over the edges and body of it, making it unattractive, but it still works and works well.
The fox whistle is perfect for refereeing, and the pink color goes perfectly with the October theme. The lanyard has a nice pushbutton slide that keeps things tidy, and the metal clip should outlast a plastic one. Despite the fact that the logo says "x2," the package only contains one whistle lanyard set. That was all I needed and expected, but the image may be deceiving.
Some of the other reviews must be for a different whistle, in my opinion. Because the whistle that my kids get at Chuck E. Cheese is either a fake or defective, I believe what I received was either a fake or defective. Cheese is far superior to this garbage. I won't be buying anything else.
When you need it to be loud, the rubber barrier comes in handy, especially for whistle chewers. Anyone who calls the whistle "defective" is perplexed. When blowing the whistle, there is a specific technique that must be followed in order for it to function properly. To make a loud whistle, you must insert your tongue into the open area of the whistle and quickly remove it while blowing. It's all about the technique; there's no ball in the whistle because it's not required.
This whistle is a classic. I referee in a large complex, and these whistles have a distinct sound when compared to pea whistles. However, blowing one takes some practice if you're not used to it. To get nice, sharp tones, you'll need to blow like a woodwind (saxophone/clarinet) with an active tongue. It's easy to tell it apart from the other whistles on the field. My black Fox 40 has a slightly different sound to it. PROS: br>br>

- a different blowing action is required than for a pea whistlebr>- You can't "talk/express yourself" like you can with a pea whistle because you can't "talk/express yourself" using different tones.
