Lyman Gen6 Digital Powder Measure 115V (7750550),Multiple

I've been putting off buying an electronic powder dispenser for years because I'm not convinced that digital scales are accurate. Call me crazy, but knowing that gravity will always pull down on my beam scale in just the right way gives me a sense of security. With a few precision rifle builds in the works, however, I began to dread the task of loading my ladder tests. So, after some research, I decided to go with the Lyman Gen 6. One of the major selling points was the bench's small footprint. I was running out of space after some recent Giraud purchases, so that, combined with what I thought was a very reasonable price and positive reviews, prompted me to buy this. br>br>At the time of this review, I'd loaded about 200 rounds with the powder measure. I've put a variety of powders through it, from flakes to the dreaded extruded stick powder. Overall, the precision has exceeded my expectations. I might have a couple that are in the advertised price range. 1 but that can easily be made up by adding more or removing some and reweighing if I really need it. In terms of precision, 1 I compared it to the RCBS 10-point scale. On a scale of one to ten, I found the digital numbers to be accurate. It's almost certain to be the case. compared to 1 light If you use the provided restrictor, you can use 1 heavy for extruded powders. It's nice to be able to have a powder charge ready to go by the time I seat the bullet on the previous round, so I've just left that installed for all powders. br>br>Creative+ paraphrase: A photo of chrono results from rounds loaded into this powder dispenser has been added. My Lyman Gen 6 Electronic Powder Measure, which I bought in June of 2018, broke on Saturday, August 14, 2019. After cleaning it, I went to do a basic reassemble and was able to get the part that funnels the powder out back in. After Lyman Customer Service told me to remove the top of the powder box and see what I found, I circled it in the picture. The tube attachment appears to have previously broken, and it appears that someone attempted to reattach it with epoxy. I don't believe it could have come from the factory in this condition! Customer service directed me to a different phone number where I could obtain a return authorization number. I called and was given an RMA number and an address, but I was told that electronic products have a one-year warranty. WTF! I never took it apart or had any issues with it, except for hearing clicks the last time I used it, which I mistook for powder granules being chopped off as it measured charges. Anyway, they've informed me that I'll be responsible for the return shipping, which may or may not be covered. Another "WTF" moment! I didn't do anything about it because I am meticulous with my reloading and had double-checked the output of the scales to other scales (an electronic and a beam) for accuracy. I'll be sitting behind the rifle when the trigger is pulled, and I don't want the bolt of the rifle to go through my head. I'm guessing AMAZON or another customer did this hatchet job and then returned it to be resold, and I was the fool who bought it. The reason for 1 star is that there are no 0 stars! If you, Amazon, read this, please email me and send me a new sealed one TODAY, 10/14/2019, or it will take at least a month to go through Lyman, assuming they make good on their promise.

If you use a finer powder (2400 or H110), it will get trapped in the seals and clog up the dispenser. br>At first, Lyman sent me Gen 5 seals to fix the Gen 6 seal issue; I installed the new seals and 20 rounds of 2400 later, it was running slowly and "chirping" again before binding up. br>I called them today, and customer service basically ignored me: "Powder is too fine," "are you moving the dispenser," "are you cleaning it. " br>THIS IS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING! They are aware that finer powders have a problem, but they are unwilling to help because "we have been selling them for three years and have a lot of happy customers. " br>Before you buy, do some research because Lyman will not assist you beyond sending out new seals.

The money spent was well spent.
Yep! Some may argue that it isn't fast enough, but if you're measuring powder for each load (accuracy), it's plenty fast. This game is all about repeatability) vs. This is an incredible time saver, as it is a powder dump type measure/dispenser. You won't have to second-guess it when it comes to dispensing. It will give you feedback by displaying the actual weight being dispensed and an audible tone indicating that it is finished. br>When reloading, we should always be cautious, and there's nothing wrong with double-checking our ammunition. As a result, I kept my beam scale set up for a quick dump to the scale to verify my work and that of my equipment. My Lyman Gen6 has never given me a false positive during this verification. br>I hope this review has been of assistance. Keep safe, keep shooting, keep reloading, and maintain your faith!.
