Good product, good service. It is a battery for a Civil Defense Victoreen Model 720 Radiation Survey Meter dating from the 1950s. This ancient piece of electronics appears to work fine on the battery end as long as it does not have other issues that interfere with it. I'd hoped that it would work, but now that I'm nearing the end of my time on it, I won't waste it anymore. Nonetheless, I inherited an old Simpson volt-ohm meter that this battery appears to fit. The weekend may be a good time for a project.
Even so, for $25, the money seemed to disappear pretty fast. Although I would have preferred a modern alternative over these, I can't do that much about it assuming there is at least the modern alternative.
This is a newly produced, excellent condition detection unit that fits perfectly into older yellow radiation detectors.
Getting a reliable weird battery can be hard, but this is where you can find them.
This Geiger counter connects to a vintage 5 volt power supply. I use a 5 volt battery by Exell in my vintage 1952 Geiger counter.
Vintage VOMs use this battery as a unique charge source. Thanks to it, I have a nice lab quality piece of equipment that I can depend on for years to come!.
