Questions & Answers

Is it compatible with the Farberware Yosemite 8-Piece Classic Stainless Steel Yosemite 8-Piece Classic Stainless Steel Yosemit How about a percolator for a cup of coffee?

No, I purchased this item and it is not compatible with the Farberware Yosemite - I'm looking for one with a much smaller diameter at the thread where you screw it in because it's far too wide. The top bubble piece of the Farberware percolator fits into a tiny hole in the percolator top.

Could you please tell me how big this is?

The Perk Clamping ring, like the outer glass dome, is about 1 3/4" in diameter; the dome is 1" tall, and the penetrating threaded bottom is 1/2" long and a little over 3/4" in diameter. The PercView stands 1 1/2" tall and has a diameter of 1 3/4". I hope you found this information useful.

Will these be compatible with the Gsi 8 cup?

The 8 cup perc is compatible with the glass knob. It fits the 14 cup, 28 cup, and 36 cup percs as well. The GSI 3, 6, 9, and 12 cup percs are not compatible with this perc.

"The resin percview top is a universal, replacement" = perplexity? "made of glass" = perplexity?

I'm not sure what you're looking for, but it's made of thick glass. It fit perfectly into the lid of my pot. I believe the threads are about 207/8" but I'm not 100% on that. My previous one had been made of plastic and had melted at some point, so this one was an upgrade. I hope this information is useful.

It wasn't a good fit
3/5

I bought this to replace a recently purchased GSI percolator that came with a hard plastic top because I preferred glass over polycarbonate for health reasons. I bought this one because it was made by the same company (GSI) that I had previously purchased a stove top percolator (which I am very happy with). I purchased this because the description stated that it would fit all GSI Outdoor percolators. This didn't make sense. It was a close call, but it wasn't quite right. I contacted GSI through their website, and they responded quickly (kudos to them) and informed me that they do not have a glass top for my specific pot model. It is a good fit for the majority of their pots, but not mine, according to them. I can see where they are technically correct based on the description, so I can't completely fault them. I'm just disappointed that there isn't an all-in-one solution. This model's glass needs to be replaced. Anyway, it's not because of my interactions with the company that I have a low rating. Rather, it's because I own their product and they haven't come up with a solution to my "problem. " Hopefully, they will respond to my request by offering a glass top option to future buyers of the model I purchased.

Before you begin percolating, make sure the glass is warm; if it is not, it will crack
5/5

Yes, glassview does not fit; however, there are some steps that can be taken to make it fit. It's a fairly straightforward procedure. However, you won't be able to tighten it down while the coffee is percolating or cooling. br>br>I began by tempering the steel. I set the glass top on a silicone pad that I had placed on a baking sheet. Place the pan, as well as the glass top, in a cool oven. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. I did this while baking the chicken for 45 minutes so that I didn't waste any energy. The most important process is that the glass top must remain in the oven until it is completely cool before being removed. Yes, it appears to be a lot of work, but it will help relieve some of the tensions within the glass. br>br>Tempering glass is done in this way. It doesn't rule out the possibility of a failure. However, once you've done that, you won't be able to tighten it down while the coffee is brewing. That's something I'll show you how to do. However, once you've done that, you won't be able to tighten it down while the coffee is brewing. This was not created for this particular pot. This only applies to the outdoor version of the cone (conical) shape (/ ). br>br> Here's the easy way: take some sandpaper and sand out the entire thing to make it bigger. The coffee pot will crack if the holes are not large enough and expand at a different rate than the glass top. If it's too tight, however, it'll almost certainly crack during the cooling process. Please keep in mind that it could still crack no matter what you do. This could happen right away or in ten years. As a result, you'll need to make the entire thing a little bigger than it needs to be to allow for some wiggle room. br>br> To smooth it out, I use a rotary tool with a sandpaper attachment and a fine grinder attachment. Make a hole that is about 1/16 inch bigger than it needs to be. Because this was my first time using a rotary tool, I took extra precautions to avoid damaging the coffee pot or injuring myself. Always follow the instructions in the instruction manual. br>br> Keep in mind that it may tighten up while it's percolating. Make sure the percolator is loose when you remove it from the burner. Do not submerge it in water or remove it from the stove until it has completely cooled. Above all, don't throw it away. br>If this is cold before it starts percolating, it will crack. br>Another good point to remember is that if you put a percolator in a sink with other dishes, pots, and pans, it will almost certainly bend or break. After it has cooled, wash it and set it aside to drain and air dry.

BUYER BEWARE: This pot DOES NOT FIT THE GSI 12 CUP POT
3/5

I had no choice but to return it unopened. This glass top was advertised with my new GSI Outdoor 12 Cup Percolator when I purchased it for camping. It claimed to be universal and compatible with all GSI Outdoor products. This isn't true; it's deceptive advertising. So now I'm stuck with the wacky plastic potholder that came with it. What a letdown! I'm thinking about retruning the pot as well. To make it work, I'd have to modify the pot or grind off some of the top, as it's far too big.

Blows up Percolator in a cup Rather than the plastic top that came with the GSI 3-, I preferred a glass top
3/5

I read reports of the plastic top melting on a cup percolator. The new glass top crumbled as soon as I pressed it against the percolator lid's hole to thread it in. After a closer look at the top, it was clear that the glass top would not fit the 3-tiered table. Regardless of the crumbling problem, a cup percolator is a must-have. Because of the risk of glass ingesting and the fact that the top does not fit (despite the fact that the description says "Fits all GSI Outdoors conical shaped percolators" and "a universal replacement top for all GSI brand coffee percolators"), this glass top is too big for the 3-cup percolator. percolator for one cup Before their reputation is tarnished, GSI should remove this item. We'll either have to use the plastic cap or buy a different percolator brand.

It didn't make sense
3/5

Worse, THEY BREAK A LOT! In order for this cap to screw in, I had to grind the opening in my coffee pot. Although it now fits, it would have been preferable if the coffee pot had not had to be modified. EDIT - br>br> After eighteen months, br>After about 18 months of almost daily use, the glass cracked. That's fine; it's not out of the ordinary. However, when I went to buy a replacement, I discovered that I didn't need to make any changes to my coffee maker! Because the glass was not molded the same as the replacement, I should have returned it. Because of my modification to the pot, the new one still fits, but it's a little loose. EDIT: br>br> One of them has been on the market for a year and a half. I've had to buy several in the last few years, and none of them have lasted more than 18 months after the first. Stars have been deducted for how frequently they break. Glass shards in my coffee are a no-no for me. I wish there was a better option, such as a metal top. How often do you sit there watching the coffee pot perk when you don't need to see it? It's difficult to come across such amusement!.
