After being in place for about 4 years, I was able to remove mine with just dental floss and no hot water or hair dryer (it was a hot day when I removed it, so warming may help if you're having trouble). There was no damage to the car's paint. Use "goo gone" or a similar product to remove any remaining glue.

This emblem has a chrome finish. The darkening around the edges is due to shadow.

Metalization has not been applied to the product. It's a paint job on top of a piece of plastic. It delaminated after only 6 months of use. When I contacted FANMATS about the problem, they refused to help and referred me to Amazon. When I questioned them about their warranty, they said, "Our agreement with Amazon is that we do not speak with their customers," and then closed my ticket abruptly. Of course, Amazon has a 30-day return policy. It is strongly advised that you do not buy this item.
The decal is 3" wide by 2" tall, as you can see in my photos. 5" tall. Its thickness, however, may go unnoticed. The decal is quite thick, so it'll last a long time. That is a plus in my opinion, but I would only apply the decal to a flat surface because its density will prevent it from adhering securely to a curved surface. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. The black outline around the chrome lettering is not visible in the example photographs provided. Outlining is one of my favorite things to do. However, I believe they should provide actual product photos, as the photos they provided did not represent the item I received.
The item depicted is a fully chromed emblem that does not have a black border. That's exactly what I wanted and what I ordered, but it's not what I got. I gave it back to her.
I, like a couple of other reviewers, did not receive the product pictured, but rather one with a black border. It's not something I despise - My car is silver, so it'll blend in perfectly - However, it is not the item that I requested or anticipated.
The item that was delivered was not the same as the one that was advertised. A silver WV with a thick black edge/trim was sent to me. It appeared to be in poor condition. I went back to the WVU bookstore and purchased the all-silver version shown in the photo.
Quality. On one side, I've got a gator, and on the other, a Gamecock. One of our daughters attended USC and the other UF. I believe they are of good quality and will remain in place after several car washes. I've only had them for a few months, but they seem to be holding up well. They arrived before the estimated delivery date. I would purchase this item again.
It is very simple to set up. On my previous car, I had a different one that was a solid chrome piece with blacked out areas between the interlocked Ns. The black faded over time until the entire piece was chrome. I had to keep coloring it in with a black marker all the time. The black backing is also cut out between the interlocking letters, which makes this one much better.
