I really like the gift and the In addition to buying one for myself, I bought one as a gift. While the package does not state that the lid should be able to be locked, my kids have knocked over my coffee twice while the lid was closed, and the cup did not spill! Plus, here's an added benefit.

The only thing I found disappointing is that I accidentally used it to make tea with my essential oils and it looks like the bottom of the cup has melted. Total mistake on my part, but beware! PLEASE DO NOT USE ESSENTIAL OIL IN PLASTIC CUPS AS THEY WILL DIE!.
