Gaia is the company that makes the product. There is no label or indication as to whether it came from China or not. I was made in China, despite the fact that it wasn't manufactured there.
It all depends on how well you sleep. I can sleep on almost any surface, but I wouldn't put my mother-in-law on it. On it, there is a law.
To meditate comfortably, you'll need a second pillow, a zafu. This item does not appear to be long enough for you to lie down on because it does not accommodate a full body. This will leave you uncomfortable because parts of your body will be unsupported. To lie on, choose something larger or longer. Best of luck, and happy meditating.
Yes, a wooden bench can be placed on top. It will provide excellent cushioning for your knees and shins. Allowing your feet to go over the side of the cushion (less strain on the ankle), which is what I do, is something you can experiment with.

These turned out to be a huge letdown. These were purchased for our Zen practice group by my wife and me, who are both Zen teachers. The cushions are extremely floppy and pillowy. The dimensions are strange; you can't really tell from the picture. The cushions are much wider and narrower than the photo depicts. We decided to return them because, while they may be suitable for some, they are not appropriate for Zen practice.
It's a decent zabuton, but not the best; it's reasonable for the price, and I plan to modify it in the future. Advantages: br>br>
1. The cost was less than that of the competition.
2. The material is extremely comfortable and soft to the touch.
3. It's quite substantial in size. With a width of 3 feet, it can contain your body. br>br>Cons: Most people won't need more than 2 feet deep. br>br>
1. Lumpy. This cushion is lumpy, despite the fact that I didn't notice it in the other reviews. The material (cotton) would lead me to believe that. The cotton Matt mat mat is adjustable and accessible. br>br>2. Stitching placement Tuck (the four indentations around the zabuton's center) goes against the grain of having a soft material. This stitching is hit by my knees (on a bench) or ankles (on a zafu). There isn't much padding in this area, as you might expect. This design does not appeal to me, and I am considering removing it entirely. 3. br>br>4. br>br>5. br>br>6. The cover can be washed, according to the product description. You can. The Matt, on the other hand, is made up of three cotton strips, which you'd have to re-insert. Due to the stitch-up tuck, I suppose this is reasonable, and I had anticipated something similar when I purchased it. br>br>Overall, it's a pleasant experience. It would have been better if it didn't have the stitching. tuck, and perhaps a little more matting (to fill in the gaps).
It's not. The cover is made of a thin, cheap-feeling, and sticky polyester microfiber material. I doubt this cushion would be suitable for someone who sits on a regular basis; it is far too soft and cushy, with little support; instead, I will spend the extra money on a product made from natural materials that will last a long time.
When I'm sitting on the floor, I don't even use a cushion. It has a lot of padding. It's simple to relax on.
This is being returned to you. There are too many lumps. I paired it with a crescent cushion that I had recently purchased and adored. My feet and ankles are hurting because this Zabuton cushion pushes up too much near the outer edges. Trying to shift and settle in is extremely distracting. The quality of the fabric appears to be good. I've only used one other cushion before, so I don't have a lot to compare it to, but it didn't work for me. I'm thinking about getting a big dog bed as my next experiment. I'm thinking about bringing my crescent pillow to the store.
The buttons are right where I want to put my knees on this Zabuton, which is my biggest complaint. I'd like the cushion to be in that spot. I'd like a mat that doesn't have any of those. It may or may not matter depending on your sitting position, but it's a bummer for me. The build quality and fabric are much better than expected and quite good, so that's a plus.
This meditation mattress provides excellent ergonomic support and assistance. I liked it so much (along with a cushioned meditation pillow to sit on) that I showed it to several family members of various ages one by one and encouraged them to try it. They were all blown away by how relaxed your legs are. My husband loves his new mattress, which we purchased for him. The filling is done so well that you can sit on a pillow for a long time with this mattress underneath without cramping or numbing your legs.
Although it is very comfortable, the color is a bright purple rather than the muted plum shown. Despite having a lot of mauve in the room, I can't make that color work with my decor. I wish they'd come up with some lighter, more neutral colors.
