My wife's account is where I'm writing this review. Some people refer to me as "the legend. " "br>br>Let's just say that this net taught my kids a valuable lesson in the importance of protecting the environment. On several occasions, their grandfather crisscross apple sauced the kids with a variety of items - Tennis balls, racquet balls, other toy balls, and a variety of toy fruits and vegetables I shot anything I could get my hands on at them. br>br>I even went all ovi on them with a fake piece of bread and a fake onion a couple of times. BOOM. On my 5-year-old, I keep it on the top shelf all day! br>br>I would strongly suggest this net to any fathers looking to lace up their boots again. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> The children are six years old. 5 and 2. I'm on number five now, and my biscuit experience is clearly paying off. The net and sticks are still there, but the small ball has vanished. br>br>With a toy bell pepper (orange), I worked my son straight the other night. Stick was unfazed by the bell pepper and showed no signs of deterioration. I shot it at his face on purpose, but it missed him. However, he was grazed on the thigh. Daughters are too afraid to enter the pain cave at this point, and her lack of practice and lack of commitment to the sport is showing in her inability to score and block shots. I've even roofed beach balls onto her and into that tiny net several times. br>br>Despite my numerous laser snap and slap shots, the net has held up admirably. The rating is still a 5 out of 10.
I bought it so that my cat and I could play some fun knee hockey. My cat has currently blocked 67 of 69 shots fired at him and is being watched by a number of teams. As for me, I can say that the net is made of a tough pvc type pipe that holds up well. Although the hockey sticks are a little short, they can still be used.
My kids will find a way to break anything they can get their hands on, even if it's just a stick. Fortunately, it has withstood their constant stick slapping, and the netting has been able to withstand objects other than the red ball being shot into it. I can't say I've ever been happier with a purchase, especially considering the price and the fact that they still play with it. Everything was simple to put together and took only a few minutes. One thing to keep in mind is that the black stick is for left-handed shooters, while the white stick is for right-handed shooters. That's fine with me because my youngest is left-handed and my middle child is right-handed.
This was a gift for my son, but it quickly became Dad's favorite toy. As a result of my recent divorce from his mother, I now have the authority to turn my living room into a rink. I chose this toy to demonstrate to my son who is the household's alpha male. I set up a camera and we watch replays of me disciplining this young boy on TV. I'm teaching him slap shots and one-timers he's never seen before. With all of our checking into the couch, it's a constant battle in the living room most days. This small net has seen some pretty nasty slap shots from the kitchen's entryway across the living room and into the net's top corner. These heinous slap shots are documented on video. We use regular sticks because the sticks are quite small. With a foot-long stick, who can properly educate their child? This is a fun time in a small net outside the little sticks.
One foam ball, two hockey sticks (one right-handed and one left-handed), and a goalie net are included in the set. The net for the goalkeeper is made of hollow plastic tubes. It isn't particularly durable, but it will suffice for indoor use. The hockey sticks appear to be made of solid plastic and are extremely long-lasting. It's possible to use it outside as well. br>br>This set was purchased for our 14-month-old son, who enjoys grabbing both sticks and hitting the balls. We kept the foam ball that came with it hidden because we were afraid she would chew on it. She hasn't yet attempted to eat the sticks. We're hoping she'll be able to take advantage of it for several years. br>br>Just a word of caution: if possible, purchase the set new rather than through the Amazon warehouse deal. We bought it twice through the warehouse deal, and both times the team logos were incorrect. We had to return it twice before purchasing a new set.
My son is a big fan of his net. He still hasn't stowed it away. It's a hit with the dog, as well. He's in front because he enjoys catching balls that are heading for the net. A small ten-year-old could fit in the net! Very strong and simple to put together- It was carried out by the children themselves.
When the rink was closed or street hockey was not an option, I used to play hockey with my family and friends in the living room. This mini net and mini stick combo is a hit with my kids. I probably enjoy it more than they do, but I enjoy watching their hand-eye coordination improve. It was well worth the money, and I have wonderful memories of my children laughing, playing, and sharing.
I bought this for my niece in the hopes of instilling in her a love for the Sabres. She has no idea what she's doing and fails to hit the target. If she maintains her current level of performance, she may be able to make the roster in the future.
