So I bought a replacement rim by mistake, and before I realized it, my son had destroyed the box. By repurposing some of the old hardware, I was able to transform this standard run into a "slam dunk" capable backboard. Take my errors out of the equation, and it's perfectly standard; the net, however, is one of the flimsiest I've ever seen, so I can see it being replaced in a few months.
For kids and light shooting, a solid rim is recommended. It doesn't hold up well to repeated use, and I wouldn't recommend dunking on it at all, even if you aren't hanging. After five, mine began to crack. 5 months. And that was solely for the purpose of shooting. Like five times a week, twice a day. But I can't complain about the price. For 5 people, it costs around 38 dollars. 5 months isn't a bad amount of time. The rims are down in all of LA's parks. It was great to be able to set it up and shoot with it.

Our beloved basketball hoop was knocked over by the wind from a recent storm, which bent the rim and rendered it useless. While the husband was installing, there were no curse words, which is always a plus in our house and speaks well of him. And the kids are overjoyed to have the basketball hoop back because it gives them something else to compete with (as if they didn't have enough already). At the very least, it's a healthy choice that will keep them occupied).
Due to storm damage to our previous one, we needed a replacement. Because of the netting, it took a little longer to install, but it worked out fine in the end. We were happy to find a replacement on Amazon because we couldn't find one at our local sporting goods store.
Too many times, high winds tipped my basketball hoop over. The rim began to bend upward, and the circle was no longer perfect. It was more of an oval, which made shooting on it extremely difficult. I put off buying a replacement rim for a year, but I finally went ahead and bought the Spalding Standard Rim this year. I realized after the rim was installed that I should not have waited another year. This rim has saved my life on numerous occasions. br>br>In case anyone is curious, I have a Reebok basketball hoop that I purchased from Costco. I was concerned that other rims would not fit properly, but this Spalding rim is perfect; it bolts right on and fits perfectly in place of the old rim. I was draining shots in under 30 minutes of starting. The rim includes a new net as well as all of the necessary hardware. Bolts, nuts, and washers are all items that are used in the construction of a structure. br>br>You can't go wrong for the money. Plus, because Spalding has such a large presence in basketball, I knew it would be excellent. If you're in the market for a new rim, this is the one to get. You're not going to be let down. And, whatever you do, don't do what I did and wait a year or two to replace it. Replacing that sucker is a must before you can begin shooting.
It's a good, sturdy rim that was simple to put together. I didn't like the black rim that came with my backboard because it was more difficult to pick up and see, so I replaced it with this, which went on just like the other with the hardware that came with the basketball hoop.
The wind blew over and bent our portable rim. This worked well as a substitute. It's not particularly robust, but it's adequate and functional, and it's a lot less expensive than purchasing a completely new system.
