It is not possible to use this product until Intuit fixes a major installation issue. Upon installation, the program appears to be working correctly, however whenever you attempt to use the program, it asks you for your activation code When you enter this five times, the computer does not start. After (if) you do this five times, you will get error code 603, meaning the machine has been activated too often. Until this problem is solved, the software is of no use. You may want to switch to something other than TurboTax after 14 years of using it.

I have spent way too much time trying to help. I wasted an hour and a half trying to get $50 of software working. As can be seen by reading multiple comments on Amazon and on the TurboTax Community Discussion Blog, this is not an isolated issue. In order for this to be an anomaly, there are too many people trying to solve it. That's it for me. With TurboTax under my belt for 20 years now, I'm ready for a change. It is likely to become a 1 star rating again after my star rating has been reduced. In the end, after finding a way to speak with someone, it was determined that the CD I purchased through Amazon was defective. Tim at TT informed me the software can be authenticated via the license code once, and then it no longer needs to communicate with the TT server to confirm A new CD was sent to me directly by TT. Unlike Amazon, I did not have to go through them. InstallTurboTax allowed me to reinstall TurboTax on my computer via the Download method as opposed to the CD. The company. Upon downloading and installing the app, it opened and has been working fine for some time now. As a result, I learned that downloading the app rather than using the CD gives you a better chance of receiving an uncorrupted app. My star rating has been increased to 4 due to the patient help provided by the TT Help team. While the user experience with TurboTax has been frustrating, it is still my opinion that it is one of the best tax preparation software programs available. This year, Turbotax has changed the way they verify that the software installed on one's computer is legal by changing their method. For the software to run, you need to enter a valid license code. Numerous desktop computers are not being able to launch the software due to a problem with the internet connection not being able to establish the connection to the Turbotax server for activation of the license. To put it another way, your home computer and the Turbotax server are unable to communicate so everything functions properly. Prior to the 2019 release, there was no issue with this. This is something Turbotax has not fixed for their customers, as it is up to them to solve the problem themselves, rather than modifying their software to work for someone who is not necessarily tech savvy and just a user. As long as Turbotax does not get their act together, I will not recommend purchasing this software. The current version of the document is useless.

Instead of putting my personnel information in the cloud, I prefer to have it on CD. This program was installed without a hitch on my Windows 10 PC. There are some things I fear more than the IRS (Inuit). When I purchased the software last year, I found that the State would not load without asking for payment. It turned out to be a poor year for the UI. Taking a quick look at my deductions was all I needed to do. Only to file my taxes do I still have an old Windows box. Therefore, every time you start it, Windows 10 keeps suggesting that you install it. This is obviously not an option for me. The machine wants to bind itself to the serial port of the box next. So used to throwing them in the recycling, now I had to go dumpster diving in order to get rid of them. It keeps getting worse by the year, who knows what else is going to happen. The program is ok with me now that Intuit lobbies to keep taxes complicated, despite the fact that it is being bought by Intuit. Is it possible to try to make my experience with the program as enjoyable.
