VPN by Private Internet Access [Download]

As of right now, I cannot recommend this product to anyone. As of right now, I am in my second year of subscription. While PIA promises that they will not record your activities, which is extremely important to me, it is not of much significance when the client randomly disconnects and the "kill switch" safety feature does not function. I also noticed, with one of the more recent updates, that using PIA has become a problem without using a third-party TAP driver due to the fact that doing so slows down my offline computer usage significantly. To connect I have to use an old client and a third party OpenVPN driver. The product has become unreliable, something I would understand if it were a free service. But I paid forty dollars for a year's subscription and don't appreciate it By updating their product, they break it. Their promise that it will not log your activity is completely worthless when their products randomly disconnect, the kill switch fails, and the whole reason you're even using their product is being broadcast to anyone who wants to see it, including what your IP address is. When PIA fixes their products, I will be happy to take this review down, but not before it is fixed. Look for something else if you want to make sure that your VPN is safe and effective. Avoid Private Internet Access instead.

When you can connect to their vpn, it appears to work correctly. Unfortunately, it does cause your internet speed to decrease by a very noticeable amount.

I have just returned from a one-month trip that included stays at more than twenty hotels, and I can say that this product worked flawlessly. When we were traveling, we never faced the problem of not being able to make a connection. PIA has no way of knowing whether or not its security measures prevented any attempts to hack into our connection, but we felt secure knowing they were in place.

I purchased it a couple of years ago and have used it steadily since then. It appears to have been a decent performance. There is nothing I can do about it but it lets me get download speeds of over 1 Mbps. Moreover, it has an app designed for Kindle Fire devices, so it is very practical to have My bank will not bother me if I connect to the internet using an unsecured WiFi network.

I highly recommend this device if you like to travel a lot and stay in hotels with unsecure WiFi The Internet can be accessed using a wireless connection. Despite the fact that it may be a great VPN with all the features anyone could possibly want, as a relatively new VPN user, I found the set up to be more confusing and frustrating. I think it is meant for more As of right now, the software appears to be working (although there are some occasional issues), but I gave it three stars only because it works most of the time and because setting it up was so painful.
