The purpose of this device was to convert some of my Mother's cassettes into MP3s so that I could transfer them to a USB flash drive so that I could play them in If you want it to convert all of the tracks without stopping between them, it misses the first track of each. During the editing process, you use a program called Audacity, which can be downloaded for free online. I found it tiresome due to the time it took. In any event, I now have a cassette deck designed to convert cassettes, which is of course more expensive.
It is printed on the cover of my box that Windows 7, Vista, and XP are available. Even if you are using x86 mode, Win 7 is usually a good option if you want Windows 8 to work. This sounds like a good idea to me. If it comes up when you insert the CD, you should be able to see it. You will know if it is not compatible immediately when Win 8 picks up on it.
My reel to reel has RCA jacks and I wasn't able to set it up on Windows 10 without any issues.

My problem is that I occasionally use this program, but it seems that I need to insert the installation disc and run the program from Control Panel every time. if you do not do so, it will go through the motions of recording an album, and you then will get a message that says, "Please wait while Roxio setups For ever it hangs in that place. It isn't the first Roxio program I've seen without compatibility issues. My recommendation is that either they figure out their issues with Microsoft, or get out of the software business, and stop taking money for products which do not A second problem is that no matter which search engine they use, they cannot find what you're looking for. Whenever you record an album, it will randomly identify tracks from three or four different albums, so the reassignment and numbering of the tracks have to be done manually. Intuitively, it's not a huge leap to figure out that if the first three tracks are from one album, the other seven are likely to be as well!.
A few other Rip SWs. It's nothing new for me to rip LPs into During the years, I have had a couple of other packages. For example, they usually do an above-average job of replicating vinyl to MP3 (LP Ripper for example). In any case, my recording set up includes my Rotel model 1520 amp (with built-in preamp) and my classic SL-100 The turntable I am using is a Technics 7 which is connected to my HP Envy PC There's nothing junky about it by any stretch of the imagination. The bottom line is It's not good that Roxio has created this software. As a starter, let me mention I couldn't find instructions on how to use Win 10 I need to know how to connect the stereo to my PC the best way possible. I eventually found the one and only way to get a signal to the PC (using USB - it was trial and error) The sound card does not have a direct plug-in option). A second issue was that the recording volume could not be adjusted A small volume and a small volume only (too low) In addition, the meters wouldn't move at all when the auto volume was set. The other thing that was bad was the hiss as the playback was going. There is no way the playback quality can be considered acceptable. Part of the problem is probably due to interference from the converter box that comes with SW and the low level of recording. And the "sound clean up" feature of the software severely compresses the signal, so severely that it completely ruined the original audio quality of the track. In any case, let me say this Unless you use Roxio LP to MP3 conversion software, compare other options. According to my opinion, this is not the best choice.
The first thing I did was install this software on Windows XP. The product description states that "you get everything you need to easily digitize, clean up, and convert analog audio from LPs and cassettes to MP3s", but they are not completely easy due to poorly written documentation. Although the Getting Started Guide provides all the information you need to get started, it can take some time and experimentation to use all the features/tools with the documentation provided. It should be improved to reduce the amount of time and experimentation needed if the documentation were more comprehensive. As an example, although they provide some information about the Denoiser tool, they do not provide the detailed information needed to really understand and use Normally, the Denoiser's settings are given in decibels (db), but if it's set to -db, then there will be no effect The following is the meaning of 4 db The noise needs to be reduced Noise should be reduced by four decibels below the maximum noise level To reduce the noise, lower the signal level by 4 db below the maximum The average signal level is 4 dB below, what's up with that? The same was true for other features and tools as well. In addition, it would be great if they included examples designed to illustrate how the tools/features work, so we could use and learn how everything works I hope they read this review and will act accordingly. There is one caveat however.
As it appears there are still numerous 'bugs' in this program, it should have been thoroughly tested at least as though it is a much more expensive product. As a result of the program's ease of use, this was my primary reason for purchasing. Despite the amount of wasted time during the recording process, when I am about to complete the music I receive an error message saying the program is 'not responding', so I need to delete and restart. In addition to the graphics, I also contacted Roxio with questions about this program. There are no helpful details. Prior to paying over $50, make sure you compare it with other programs. This program is unreliable, so I have to charge you 00.
The software I tried to use did not work on my PC. Using Windows 7 64bit, I found this application more difficult to work with than I ever could have imagined. Despite the fact that the software claims to run on Windows 7 64bit, it does not work on my system. There was a problem with the CD Key since it was not recognized by the disc and the install process was stopped. It certainly appears that a mistake was made on the DC Key on the CD envelope, so I requested yet another copy from Amazon. Both copies failed to install because the CD key was not recognized, and the second copy did the same thing. We will return this copy to Amazon as well. My experience with Roxio's customer service was absolutely horrible. They neglected to respond to my repeated requests for help, despite the fact that the product was registered on their web site. BUYER BEWARE -- you may not be able to install this software.
