Questions & Answers

What is the maximum number of computers on which this software can be installed? Is it necessary for each computer to have its own copy?

CyberLink, in my opinion, is a very liberal and customer-focused firm. Their customer service has always been outstanding. There are some businesses that try to bleed you dry by only allowing you to use one computer. They limit the number of computers that can be used by using a server that recognizes you each time you run their program. Even though you paid for it, you have no real ownership of the program you bought. CyberLink's entire product line is available to me. They've never tried to force me to use just one of my computers. In fact, they've always been extremely reasonable and helpful to me. That's why I keep doing business with them. Some software companies are owned by control freaks of the first order. They must get a lot of pleasure from limiting your equipment's use.

Is this software (ultra version) capable of playing 4K Blu-ray discs? I'm aware that it can play 4K video, but I felt the need to clarify. ?

There is no video software that can run a 4k blu ray, according to what I read online about 4 months ago when I bought this (not through amazon). I believe it is a hardware issue, as well as a copyright issue with Sony. A 4k disc would not even be recognized by my Blu-ray drive. I forgot to mention in my original response that if you can find a blu-ray drive that at least recognizes the disc, you might be able to rip it from the disc and watch it in 4k. I've always thought that a file ripped from a blu ray looks a little clearer than a file ripped from a blu ray, but it's still probably better than upscaling.

Is this software compatible with the new ultrawide displays, i.e. Displays with a resolution of 2560x1080?

PowerDVD enters a high performance mode when playing video on displays larger than Quad HD (or any file with a resolution of 3200 x 1800), which disables some non-essential features. features that are required for playback The features listed below will be unavailable in this mode:
- -br>Video rotationbr>-br>-br>-br enlarge/decrease the size of the imagebr>- br>Display of two subtitlesbr>- Customize the font, color, and size of the subtitles.br>Make sure your video card can handle that level of graphics.

Is it possible to burn Blu-ray discs with this?

Hello,br> PowerDVD is a media player, not a burner. As a result, it is not capable of burning Blu-ray discs. Blu-ray discs, DVDs, and CDs are all acceptable options. However, it is capable of ripping CDs and extracting audio from video files. br>Best wishes,br>David

This product went through the installation process without a hitch, but it won't turn on
3/5

This product went through the installation process without a hitch, but it won't turn on. I've tried a few times but haven't been successful. Amazon delivered the package in its original packaging. The customer service is atrocious. They give you a phone number for a foreign call center, but you won't be able to speak to anyone without a VS code if you call. To get a VS code, you must first sign up on their website. After all of this, they connect me to a tech support person who has difficulty communicating in English after I enter my VS code. And. That's right, I have to tell them my Visual Studio code yet again. So now I'm waiting for an email from Tech support, which I have to retrieve from the member section of the website, and I can expect a response in as little as 24 hours. If they are unable to resolve the issue, this may be returned the next day. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> My most recent contact with Customer Service was on 5/5/2016, following a second response to the above. It had been three days since this happened. Since then, there has been no response. This product has been uninstalled, and a return request has been submitted to Amazon. Please do not waste your time or money on this product because it is poorly designed and the company does not offer adequate post-purchase support. You can get working blueray player software for less than half the price if you shop around.

My HTPC is unable to play Blu-ray discs
3/5

It's doing a fantastic job with my DVDs. The image appears to be amazing. However, I have yet to be successful in getting it to play Blu-ray discs. It begins to load the Blu-ray disc, then stops and simply returns me to the screen with the "Play" and "Resume" buttons. br>br>Installing the software was also a challenge for me. On my HTPC, which runs Win 7 Pro x64, Windows kept complaining that PowerDVD was attempting to install an unsigned driver. I tried a half-dozen different methods to disable Windows' signed driver checks, but none of them were successful. Even turning off the requirement for signed drivers at startup didn't help. To get the driver to install, I had to put my version of Windows into Test Mode. 000 was the number assigned to the driver. fcl or something very similar to it. I struggled with this issue for several hours before figuring out how to get past the driver check that was digitally signed. br>br>At this time, I can't give this software more than two stars because it doesn't do the one thing I need it to do - it doesn't do what I need it to do. Movies on Blu-ray Disc (Blu-ray) - I bought it solely for that reason. I ran the Cyberlink utility to see if my system was ready to play Blu Ray disks, and it passed both the basic and advanced tests with flying colors. I'm out of ideas and can't seem to find anything useful in online forums, so my next step is to go to Cyberlink and submit a ticket. Hopefully, they will be able to assist. I could have purchased a cheap Blu Ray player for the price of this software. It's been a real pain in the neck.

Non-Existential Garabge is a useful tool
3/5

I rarely write reviews unless I'm blown away by something or if I'm extremely disappointed. Regrettably, this review belongs to the second group. This is the most dreadful software I've ever used. I've tried five different movies and it hasn't been able to play any of them. It will occasionally begin to play before crashing. The disc may or may not be recognized. It will occasionally play for a short period of time before freezing and refusing to play. Despite its cost, it appears to be low-cost software. Don't waste your money on this game because the user interface is slow and the controls are unresponsive.

Not all HDCP-enabled devices are supported
3/5

hardware that is compatible It had the potential to be a fantastic product. Because it will not run on my computer, I have no idea. It appears to believe that neither my video card nor my monitor are HDCP compatible. The issue is that they used to work perfectly with my previous Blu-ray player. It was never a problem with ray software or encryption. Both hardware vendors state that the devices I have support HDCP, so I can only assume that PowerDVD only supports a subset of the HDCP-compatible devices. on the market that is compatible with it And it's not like I went out and bought some strange build of my own. I have a brand new ASUS monitor (3 months old) as well as a brand new nVidia video card (6 months old). Both have up to date drivers. Surprisingly, my blu-ray player doesn't have a DVD player. The only piece of hardware that PowerDVD claims to support is the ray burner, which is about two years old.

Cyberlink will quickly deactivate your key, and you will be unable to contact them via phone or email to resolve the issue
3/5

Due to a virus, I had to reinstall Windows. All of my programs, including the Cyberlink dvd16, had to be reinstalled. My product key didn't work anymore for some reason. I sought assistance from Cyberlinks, but all I got was HELL. Their customer service is the worst I've ever encountered. They've made support so complicated and perplexing that you'll just give up and buy something else; phone contact is a joke. They boast about the many billion programs they have sold, which is probably true. [phone numbers posted are for sales and promotion, not customer support or services] They boast about how many billion programs they have sold, which is probably true. Millions of complaints would explain why Cyberlink does not offer phone or even email support. It pains me to say that the products Cyberlink sells are good, but their customer service stinks.

Be careful who you buy from
3/5

It tries to do too much, and none of it is good, which is why I bought it in the first place. to simply observe Blue- On the CPU, there are rays. Windows 7 is a computer operating system. When the software failed to install, I went to the website and downloaded the latest version. Blue- The rays played, but the movie became pixelated halfway through and then froze, causing it to crash to desktop. I did the same thing with a different BR. When I changed to DVD, I received a message saying that there was no disk available. sigh. Same thing happened when I uninstalled the software and reinstalled it with the latest update. br>br>I attempted to contact customer service, but they demanded an additional $29. Just to have a conversation with someone is worth 99 dollars. br>br>The image was great when it worked, but the fact that it crashed every time and that help was another $29 is unacceptable.

Great Video for a Reasonable Price, But Annoying Pop-Ups Up Ads
3/5

This was installed so that a W10 system could have a decent video player. It comes with a lot of useful features and can play a wide range of video formats. The price is reasonable, and installation is simple; the video quality is excellent, and it functions flawlessly as a DVD display interface. br>br>However, and this has become more noticeable as I use it, it constantly has annoying pop-up advertisements. The software appears to rant with enticements to buy add-ons and the like; at first, you don't notice it, but after a while, it becomes almost irritating. One could make an argument for the ads if the software was free. However, because it is paid to perform a specific function, the longevity of these promotions greatly diminishes their value!.
