With this product, I was able to copy programs that I had saved on my Tivo to DVD. I am very satisfied with the product. Installing the software can be a bit tricky. I had to install it twice before it worked. Because I do not have Vista, I have not come across some of the issues other users have reported. As the software included with the package is for XP, you must download the Vista patch (no problem). The first thing I had to do was adjust the preferences after I had installed for the video signal to be picked up. According to my research, it has to do with my old laptop (a cheap one). Although I have a similar computer, I am sure I'm not the only one out there. Whether it works or not at the beginning depends on your level of persistence (thus, check the Pinnacle website). It can be a bit difficult to get the software installed, but once you do, it's quite nice. For example, the software included does more than edit videos, though you can upgrade if you want something more fancy. Software included in the package is more than adequate in my opinion.

Originally, I bought the Dazzle DVD recorder so that I could copy my VHS tapes to DVDs. A few old videos from a trip and a few instructional videos are the bulk of my collection. At least so far, the Dazzle appears to be performing as expected, but it took me a long time to get it set up. I had trouble installing both the Instant DVD Recorder software, as well as Pinnacle Studio for it to work. Both times, Instant DVD froze, and I had to restart my computer. As for Pinnacle Studio, it also froze twice. The second time I tried to install it, it froze when it appeared to be almost done. It said it was configuring the software when it froze. I had to carry out a ctrl alt delete to close the program after about 10 minutes. Although I saw that it was working on my computer, it must have completed installation.
