Questions & Answers

Can this be installed on a Windows 7 computer Does the computer have a 64-bit architecture?

The game is a great one with lots to do and learn, but Windows 7 was not out when this game was released. When I was a kid, I played on Windows ME and it was a blast. It's too old for Windows 7 64 bit, and I could not play with Vista or XP after that. It's not a point and click game for Windows 7 64 bit, or even 32 bit, unless they release It might help if you read that

In spite of our best efforts, my wife and I played out of order the three science edutainment titles by Tivola, Physicus , Bioscopia , and Chemicus . Our first experience with Physicus left us with a feeling that it could have been considerably Afterwards, we played Chemicus and found it to be an incredibly fun game It is a significantly better game than Physicus in nearly every aspect (see my reviews of these We then played Bioscopia , which is actually the middle game of the trilogy. Now that we have gotten to experience Chemicus first, we wish we had not been spoiled, because Bioscopia is much closer to its predecessor Physicus. Basically, Bioscopia is a first-person adventure game (a la Myst, for example), but with the added benefit of incorporating lessons on biology into its game play ( Chemistry and Physics being the two scientific sub-genres of the other two games ). Chemicus managed to create an excellent game by basing most of its gameplay on chemistry in each of its aspects. Aside from Bioscopia (but not earlier Physicus), only a few books are more distinguished. In terms of biological ties, the majority Gameplay for this game relies on an online component It is required that you keep your key card charged up by answering multiple-choice questions There are five Biology questions to choose from. The key card is then used to gain access to many of the large labs that surround the game's main area. Besides this, there is really only one main Biology puzzle in this entire game, the goal of which is to create an antidote that will finally cure the ill heroine. Aside from the graphics, this game contains just one redeeming feature. It is clear to see that the designers have put a large amount of time and effort into creating an environment that is lush and detailed. It seems, however, that the environment is rather closed, like Physicus. Basically, you have to find successive keys to uncover new areas within one large segmented fortress where you have to explore one area at a time. A game design with this type of area change is only successful if the new area is sufficiently different for the player to remain There aren't that many differences between the new areas around here. Gee, I see what you did there! This is yet another strange-looking, large building to enter. The paths leading to and from the buildings are a waste of time. Another key ingredient to any successful adventure game, which is missing here, is rewarding the player whenever he solves a particularly difficult puzzle with some type of nugget, usually a visual cut-scene. The main story is developed in a scene like this. Cuts are the only way out It is the game's finale and I have to say it is pretty lame once you arrive there. There are also many things to be desired about the user interface. For the navigational pointer, there are too many icons to choose from. Our ability to solve several of the puzzles in the game was affected because they were so confusing. There is virtually no difference between the look down and turn around icons and they are both usually in the same part Furthermore, there is an icon showing an open hand, which implies that certain activities can be carried out There are several places in the game where you must perform an action, yet the pointer does not switch to the hand you need to use. This is just a result of sloppy testing and programming, which makes the game unplayable. To see what was supplied, we had to look at the walk-through A poorly designed interface caused us to miss a lot of information. You may need to go through several times to see what you missed. Possibly I would have been a little more forgiving had we played this game prior to playing Chemicus . As it stands now, I only wish that all three of these games could have been as exciting as Chemicus. Even if they make mistakes, they are learning from them. In other words, any future Chemicus games (I've heard that there's going to be one) should keep getting Now that you know how to do these games in order, you may skip this one and move on to Chemicus.

It will be fun to learn biology
4/5

I had a good time. It was the teacher who was our brain center with all of the information we needed to solve the problem. My favorite part of it was the story line. My favorite subject has always been biology, so playing a game based on that knowledge, and even checking the Brain Center, was a lot of fun for me. It was very frustrating. There is a beautiful scenario but the resolution screen and the "no free moving game" (one can only go where indicated) made it too There are no age restrictions for this game, and you can learn something from it every time. This is a good book.

It is necessary to know science in order to finish the A few hours ago, I came across this old CD game while I was digging through old boxes
4/5

However, I tried this old trick and it works! I had trouble installing it on a Windows 7 x86 system, but it works now! Add a folder to the root of your C drive Bioscopia is the name of the project. Take Disc 1 and Disc 2 and copy both to C The Bioscopia folder is located in this directory. It is necessary for the program to play disc 2, so be sure to leave it in your CD Rom drive if you wish to play it. The C section reads To double-check your path, double-click on /Bioscopia/Transfer You will be able to see Bioscopia if you click the file. If you run the exe in 32-bit mode on Windows 7, the game will load up! This is an old game that can only run at 800x600, but it will still run. While I'm having fun playing this old gem, it will take a while to figure out all of the puzzles as you need to learn Science through the "consoles" in the game that teach you Genetics, Cell Biology, Human Biology, and Zoology. Quicktime is required to play the game, so make sure you have it installed before you try to play. There is something very unique about this game.

I believe that Bioscopia was the best out of the three games we tried (Physicus, Chemicus, and Bioscopia)
4/5

Physicus was too short and too limited, so it ran right past you before you knew what it was all about. It was clear that this was their first attempt at making a game since the graphics were primitive. Chemicus was a great game, but it ought to have been split up into two parts or something, since it dragged on and on and on and stuffed you full of so much knowledge and facts that you often forgot what they meant or got them mixed up at The game is good, the graphics are great, but you have to be patient and have a steel memory to play it. It was a pretty decent movie, with a length that was just right, great graphics, and a bit confusing education at times, but overall a respectable production. During Bioscopia, the main issue was the pathetic ending (it seems that all of them have this problem). One feels as if one wasted a lot of time at the end of the course. By the way, what do you think? It is not permitted for you to enter that closet An old, down-and-out building resides in the center of the courtyard. It was a disappointment to say the least. It is almost impossible to find one's way around these games without having a walkthrough, which brings me to the only downside to these games. On Bioscopia and Chemicus' installation CDs we found excellent guides, but on Physikus we had to Google a guide. In any case, it's advisable to play all of them if you're going to play one of them. There are quite a few similarities between them.

How can this be funny and educational at the same time? My favorite part of the game is the physics
3/5

It was a good scenario, the quality was high, the computational skills are strong, but I don't know if I learned or what my son learned from the CD. The more we learn biology, the more we'll love it.
