JumpStart Study Helpers Math Booster

Although its Amazon product page claims it is compatible with Windows Vista (and therefore won't work with Windows 7), this game cannot run on Windows Vista or Windows 7. This is a product that Amazon manufactures and sells under license from Knowledge Adventure (also known as Jumpstart). On the CD insert as well as on the web page, the system requirements are incorrectly printed. I called Knowledge Adventure tech support after installing the game and finding it did not work. They informed me that anything that utilized Windows 2000 must be upgraded to Windows Vista or Windows 7, and that Amazon has marketed these items inaccurately to the point that they are considering revoking the manufacturing contract. They tried all they could to trick the system into playing the game, but it did not work. Tech support did their best to guide me through the process. According to them, they have updated their Math Blaster software to work correctly with current versions of Windows and recommend that as an alternative.

The purchase turned out to be a wise one. We have a 6 yr old who is well developed Because she can play more than one level at a time, she likes how the game adjusts. Because I can adjust what she works on, and I can see what she's doing without having to actually watch her. Wouldn't it have been nice to have a quick explanation page for each section? She, in all honestly, isn't a gamer like some kids are, so the controls were a bit hard for her to figure out (the pinball was challenging).

It was purchased for the purpose of practicing my son's math skills. This game was fun for about 15 minutes, but he quickly lost interest. The positive aspects are that you can set different levels and types of math problems and that you can enter your own custom However, the game only consists of three short simple games that do not hold your interest. There is also a pinball game that makes you feel frustrated because the ball will hit the wrong answer while you are still trying to find the right answer, which then messes up your grade. It was a very disappointing experience for my son (9). If you are looking for more content, I recommend you look at another game.

I would like to start by saying. WIN XP and WIN VISTA 64 are both supported for this product. I tested it on both Windows and Mac OS X. In summary, my son likes and is very happy with the product. He has the opportunity to practice some valuable math skills, and he enjoys.

The wrong item was sent to me, and I was disappointed. Despite the fact that the CD picture shows it's Mac compatible, the actual CD that was sent to me can only be used on Windows devices.
