This vendor is a blessing in my life! Because this software was still available, this vendor saved me a lot of trouble when I upgraded to a new computer
5/5

br>br>For almost 20 years, I had relied on MS Works spreadsheets for a large part of my personal life. So I purchased a refurbished desktop computer solely for the purpose of installing Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. Instead of the dreadful Windows 10 and Windows 8, try a bit. The new PC arrived with no software, much to my dismay. I did some research and was shocked to learn that Microsoft now expects me to pay around $80 per year for MS Office 2016 with Cloud, which I never used. Sorry, but anyone can save their important files for free on flash drives and external hard drives. I've used MS Office at work, and it's a lot nicer, but for my personal needs, MS Works is fine. br>br>At first, I was told about Open Office, a free program that competes with Microsoft Office, and I downloaded version 4. 3 for free, and no viruses or malware were discovered. It worked, but it did a few things differently that I didn't like, and after doing some more research, I discovered that many users complained that it stopped working after six months. This would be my worst nightmare, because all of my Open Office spreadsheets would no longer be able to be opened with MS Office, and I'd have to pay a yearly hostage fee. br>br>Because you get what you pay for, I started reading MS Works 8 and MS Works 9 reviews, both of which are sold by the same vendor. I decided that MS Works 8 would meet my requirements, but I was skeptical about its compatibility with my new 64-bit computer. bit OS. All of my e-mails were answered by the vendor. e-mails reassuring me that it would be fine. As MS Works 8, it arrived quickly. 5 came on a CD, and I was able to install it without difficulty. It still has the same feel as the one I've had for the past 20 years, which I like. Given how inexpensive this was, I'm not sure why I wasted my time with Open Office; it's also a lot less expensive than paying Microsoft's yearly fee.

To fill in the gaps in Windows 7 that Microsoft neglected to include
5/5

I actually prefer older MS Works versions - This one appeals to me because it has a built-in calendar. Despite the fact that I'm no longer a big fan of calendars - There are some benefits to being retired. I still use a daily calendar to help me remember things, and this one fits the bill perfectly - did it all the time Then, after upgrading to Win7Pro, I couldn't find the calendar. I looked on the internet but couldn't find anything that worked the way I needed it to. Google's is far more difficult to use and does not print in the same compact manner as this one. The only thing I use regularly is - the date on the calendar I like it when things are even. MS Works v4 is an older version of the software. When I need to compose something or run a spreadsheet, I use version 5 from the Windows 95 era. If you want to call me a stodgy old man, I think it works much better than the later versions.
Oh - What was the outcome of the transaction with the seller? I received the CD a few days ahead of schedule - There was no difficulty in loading it. Those of us who prefer older software are grateful that retailers such as this keep the discs in stock. Plus, it's at a fantastic price. Because of this, I give them a FIVE-STAR rating.

My grandmother is in her eighties and has a lot of experience. compu- It appears, citizen! She made the decision (at the age of 87). (due to her advanced age) that she needed to UPGRADE from her antiquated machine to the new one. improved Windows 7 operating system on a slimmer chassis HP model with a slim profile! I assisted her transition by transferring her familiar items to her awesome upgrade, being the nerd that I am. The HP had all the bells and whistles, of course. whistles, but when we tried to open some of her old computer's documents (in Microsoft WORKS), we got error messages about corrupted files and the like! I decided that simply installing WORKS on the upgrade would be faster than going in and saving all those documents in the WORD file type (my Granny has a lot of documents). Angry that the all-in-one solution doesn't seem to be working, WORD 2010 was unable to communicate in the stale language of its predecessor. Instead of crying over spilled milk, I took to the virtual streets in search of the antiquated software that my Granny cherished. I looked everywhere but couldn't find anything I liked because of the price. Why is the price of this relic so high? Finally, but not unexpectedly (since I should have just arrived here first), time was saved) - I went to Amazon and found exactly what she was looking for at a fantastically low price! It arrived quickly and solved our problem perfectly! Now, granny is both new and old at the same time - combining the old and the new business is being taken care of It's really good!.

For the Average Joe who is also a Creative
5/5

I adore it so much that when my old CD became scratched, I had no choice but to repurchase it. br>br>MS Works8 is a useful suite of office applications. It has everything you need, but none of the glitz. When comparing MSOffice and MSWorks 8, there are only two things to keep in mind. a number between 5 and 10 br>1) The Word Processor will only allow you to work with multiple documents. MSO allows multi-column paragraphs for the entire document, whereas MSO does not. The rest of the page is single-columned. br>2) MSW 8 (instead of 8) The LAST MSW with "WordArt" is number 5 or 9. This handy feature allows you to incorporate text into a frame with a variety of fancy effects. This can be done with eight. 'You must use one of our publishing packages,' says number five.

What I got was illegal software
3/5

FYI: The item was a NOT FOR RESALE CD that came with a previously owned PC. This wasn't software that the seller bought himself, but rather a CD that came with a PC purchase. This was obtained through a fraudulent transaction. I'm just relieved that neither my new laptop nor Microsoft are aware of this. While I'm glad to have MS Works on my new laptop, I believe it's unethical to sell something like this (though I won't have any problems because I have the appropriate key). (This happened to me before with an OS disc (Windows XP) I ordered (not realizing it was a mass production disc for a college) that ended up being useless on my work PC when MS Windows upgraded and discovered it. ) It put a big red flag on my computer that I couldn't get rid of unless I re-installed Windows. Purchase the software with the correct key. ) Buyers should be wary of sellers like the one from whom I purchased. Documentation can be found in the photo above!.
