TurboTax Basic 2020 Desktop Tax Software, Federal Returns Only + Federal E-file [PC/Mac Disc]

There was a time when there were fewer forms available with the lower priced versions of Turbo Tax a few years ago. In the wake of their push back, they restored them, and since that time I have been doing my returns with Basic, and had been doing so for many years before. Despite upgrading to Premier for $60 after learning on the forum that I couldn't access the form for a vacant land sale in Basic, I had to do so this year. As a result, I paid 29. There is a basic version for 95 dollars and an upgrade for $60. The deal was ripped off on me. As well, I noticed that Amazon does not have the list of included forms for all of the versions anymore, which should have raised my suspicions. Be sure to check before you buy to make sure that you are buying the right version.

The slower installation time of almost 30 minutes on a new Win 10 machine was just one of the many problems I encountered. It is still very difficult to improve the user interface. I have been using it for many years. When it comes to data entry, I tend not to use the interview method but rather enter it as I get it or do some 'what-if' analysis There is iffing. There are sections in which they ask the same questions you answered last year, this year, the year before, etc.

My taxes are easier with Turbotax compared to doing them manually, however for the price I would expect.

TurboTax is the product of choice for us, as we have been doing our own taxes for years. Because we live in Florida, we don't pay State taxes, so I know that I can get the basic version of the software from Amazon, as most local stores only carry the Deluxe or higher version. The only thing we need to do is file our personal taxes, so buying anything else would be overkill. Our business has tried other popular brand software, but we have always come back to TurboTax because it is easy to use and gives you everything you need to file a tax return. After filing electronically, we usually have any funds owed to us in our account within a week. Despite the cost going up every year, it still works out to be less expensive than having someone else do our taxes for us. It is highly recommendable to file your taxes if you just have basic taxes to file.

Package prohibits the use of Windows 7 when it states that it will not function. It is not my favorite operating system and I don't intend to Turbo Tax can no longer run on Windows 7 due to Microsoft no longer supporting it, hence there is no virus protection update available. My experience with PC Matic has demonstrated that it is a much better virus protection method than any of the built-in virus protection available on Windows. Thus, I will never again use Turbo Tax. My friend has a Windows 10 PC and I gave it to him. My personal style does not like to be told what I can or cannot do. Turbo Tax and Amazon should place a large print statement in large print on the box and any sales advertisements that this software cannot be used with Windows 7. When I tried to use it, my "return window" had expired when I purchased it early.

I always have a flawless experience with the program. This is of particular interest to me since it does not require a state tax return. This is not important to me. I could not get it to work on my new high-end I could not print from my older computer when the software was installed. No one on the tech team knew how to solve either issue.
