Point of sale system that works really well

It is unclear why this gets such a low rating. We really like how easy the software is Since the release of V10, there has been a great deal of innovation. A sale can be rung up very quickly, and inventory can be added and sales tracked very easily. I'd have given it 5 stars, but it doesn't appear to have a layaway option with the basic version. It's possible that's a feature in the pro edition. If you want to get less work at the end of the day, go with the intuit merchant service. A+ product! I highly recommend it!.

There are plenty of other options out there. The software is so awful that I regret ever purchasing it. The POS software I helped set up for my wife's retail store is from this vendor. The use of barcodes in inventory control and QuickBooks Pro integration (financial) were priorities for us. Despite having a graduate degree in computer science, and having experience with accounting, we spent a lot of time fixing problems and bugs in this computer program. The reviews we read had put us on a pretty low expectation scale- Nevertheless, this software is worse than the previous version. Additionally, you're constantly bombarded with advertisements for both your products and your company You'll see pop-up ads talking about Intuit's additional products. In addition, the Basic software disables important functions, and you need to upgrade to the Pro version in order to alter things like price tag layouts. If you are using this software in production, it should be stabilized, not added more features. It is too flaky for production use. You should stop adding new features to this software and hire a better software team. We have run into these bugs probably half as often as we have expected This way, -Br>- Barcodes are too small (out of spec for most readers) on Zebra's ZLP 2824 plus printer (officially supported by Intelligence, according to the manufacturer). This was my first experience with Point of Sale. There are many updates coming soon, but as of now the system is a mess, freezes frequently, and sorry but I had to say it again. . . SLOW! As customers watch in frustration as orders are rung up, losing patience because of the prolonged process, they are shaking their heads in frustration. That's a joke and look at the other reviews with 1 star ratings. It is shameful that a company would offer such a service and we hope that they will offer a solution or refund. Furthermore, another reviewer pointed out that if you do not use Intuit for your merchant account you will be out of luck. Besides the one provided by them, there is no other merchant service that integrates with this. Their rates for credit card processing are terrible as well. A company like this is horrible and I wouldn't recommend purchasing anything from them. What a disgrace! Let me know if you have any suggestions for a simple POS system that is quick and easy to use.

It was a waste of money

As a result of all the forced upgrades Intuit makes, along with their constant 'BUY THIS' mentality, I am completely fed up with them. For my store, I invested nearly $ 3,500 into Point of Sale 8 and had a very difficult time setting it up it took many, many hours. The process of customizing my store was a bit awkward, but I managed to do Later on, my old computer died, and I replaced it with a new desktop (Primary station) running Windows A problem prevented my company files from loading and running in POS 8. Calling Intuit was a good idea. the latest version has to be bought in order to run on Windows 8, but we can do that right now over the phone for you for just $ 999. The reason I refused to pay them another thousand dollars was because I was so pissed off. Right now I am looking for something else, I'm just not going to play Intuit's 'must upgrade' game (as well as having to buy the new Quickbooks Pro software to run on my new WIN 8 computer for $ 200). There is no way around it.
