You don't have to upgrade to the new version whenever your older version works
3/5

A lot of areas have been reduced in functionality due to the bug. It was the stuff of nightmares. There is a random hard freeze for a couple times a day requiring a hard reboot, although it appears to happen more often after a note is added of the line, i5-based I have a Intel 6600 on a Z170 chipset, with 16GB of RAM, followed by a Samsung 850 Pro SSD for Windows 10. All versions of 64 (crashed in all compatibility modes too) No other system crashes, except for with POS The word POS can be used in both meanings in this context. There is no doubt that Intuit added an overlay to their existing POS software to update the GUI and reduce overall functionality in a few It's not clear what version they were using when they first started this. Rather than having to deal with the new overlay, you might be able to bypass it altogether if that is where the crash bug occurs. The boot time to get to the desktop is only about 20 seconds, which is quite fast.

Getting from QB POS V9 to V11 did not go smoothly for me
3/5

I gave three stars for effort. I became more concerned afterwards that Intuit might cease making POS software altogether after seeking out a good alternative. The poor quality of V10 and V11 made me wonder how Intuit could continue to make a product that customers loathed. Now that cloud-based POS systems are readily available, there are a lot of options. However, they do not provide me with an easy way to review and react to inventory and sales data within a single or two-screen interface. You either can't do what QB POS can do, or you have to run multiple reports and screens for the same thing when you compare QB POS with other POS systems. As I asked around last year, I learned that there was a group of advocates pushing for improvements, and Intuit was investing more resources to help improve the QB POS system. In the end, we have a release of V12 that promises both increased speed and stability, as well as multitasking functionality. Four and a half weeks ago, I upgraded ten computers in four different stores. I have some feedback on the product based on just a few days of experience This is *br*br*br*br1. Steps for installation I found the installation to be smooth overall. You should load the Intuit software onto a USB stick instead of downloading it to every computer once you have downloaded it. By simply dragging this update to every desktop where you wish to install QB POS V12, the update will be automatically installed. Installing was fairly quick. However, I spent half an hour on the phone with Intuit tech support figuring out why store exchanges wouldn't work. In the case of multiple You receive a unique license number for each computer when you open your store. Once you register, you will have a unique POS license for each store, which will be used by every computer in that store. To properly reference remote store licenses at the HQ store, you need to reference this document. You need to make sure to refer to the HQ license every time you open a remote store. The ideal scenario would have been for this to be 1.
2. Getting help from Intuit tech support has bailed me out on some issues in the past. However, they probably work with most business owners on a budget with slow and dated computers. I have called tech support from Intuit a few times in the past. On a Friday morning, I had to do a system reload of Windows 7 Pro for a simple problem. Intuit tech support is not responsible if your POS is not functioning if your computer is five years old with a Pentium processor. 1.

2. The company compresses its files as follows After installing QB POS on my backup computer with my original four, I downloaded the program to my existing computer. In QB POS V11, a file larger than 4GB could no longer be backed up as it could not fit within the backup limits. Last year, I had to use the "Clean Up Company Data" function to have larger files backed up. My 4 photos are compressed into V12, which makes sense. Over 2GB of space was freed up on my backup computer by a 2GB file. However, V12 did not reduce the size of my company on our actual HQ computer, and I still have to wait a few minutes for it to finish compressing when I shut the machine 2. 3. 4. A general description of how the system looks and functions V12 is very similar to V11 in terms of overall appearance. In almost all instances, the sale is rung up at the same time. The second time you type slowly, it will find it the first time it may not work. The search function is still not as good as V9, since it may not work the first time. Thanks to the employees who did not cause me a lot of problems, I did not receive a lot of calls, emails, and texts. This is a very good sign in my opinion. 3.

4. In terms of stability and speed, the following are important This has met with mixed feedback. Errors relating to QB Shell have been eliminated. QB POS performed better in the remote stores, which had the fewest issues, and appeared to run faster without any hangups. Our HQ computers had more issues, which may be related to the way we use remote desktop from computers with different screen resolutions on those computers. After logging in remotely from my other computers and iphone, I have had to restart the HQ POS server a few times (just the software, not the computer), as it seems to hang up on some screens after it is accessed remotely remotely. 6

. A Windows function can be described as follows Several tweaks and enhancements have been made, but the overall experience is not as smooth as V9, and there are still bugs. Transfers and POs are automatically saved when windows are switched. You can switch windows without losing your reports. Multiple open receipt windows were among the odd hang-ups which over the course of my testing I was unable A glitch on the HQ server causes the item and customer entry fields to disappear when turning on the make a sale screen. I'll need to restart the POS program. Hopefully, these issues will be fixed soon with an update. It's so normal for me not to be able to use windows features that I often close them between tasks. According to my previous statement, remote desktop access may be a cause of these bugs. I. 1.

2. As a whole In terms of effort, I can give it three stars. I hope future updates will make it a four star app. It would be okay for me to cope with QB POS V12 for the next 2 years The duration of the project is three It appears that QuickBooks has partnered with Revel to create QB POS online. Check the reviews on Quickbooks accounting online, which do not sound promising. I plan on switching to QB POS online once it can perform the same functions as the desktop version. 8 *br *br. I'll tell you more later. Quickbooks Payments announces the availability of new merchant services At least switch to the new Quickbooks Payments merchant service plan if you do not upgrade to V12. My only credit card processing option with QB POS is the only one supported by the program. At one time, Wells Fargo offered payment services. Later, IMS did, and now Quickbooks does. My credit card fees were reduced by a few percent when I called a few weeks ago to get a rate reduction. I was told I was getting the lowest rate available for my credit card. As a result of reviewing the credit card processing fees I have been paying, I found out I have been paying about 3 percent. Combined fees for Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and debit cards are 5%. IMS merchant service plan looked like it had somewhat competitive discount fees, but my per swipe rate was $0. My new IMS merchant service plan has a steeper discount rate. The total of all these additional fees coupled with the 27 was quite a bit. You can access Quickbooks Payments by going to the During this offer period, there is a new plan called "Reduced Rates" for just IF you swipe 1 fee per month, your monthly fee is 95. Applied rate of 75% is 3. 4 and keyed rate is 3. 5. There is a 15% fee per swipe, and there is a $0. 25 fee per swipe. In addition, there is a charge of The fee for transferring money from one account to another is $50. According to the swap, the new rate is lower than my old rate and I compared the new rate to my old rate. It is between 5% and The combined swipe fee for debit cards and cards from Visa, MC, Discover, Amex, and Amex is 7%. A credit card transaction can save you a lot of money by using this method. This is enough to pay for my V12 upgrade within a few months for me. The deposit types are also combined per store, which is also an improvement. Per store, there used to be a separate deposit for credit cards and debit cards. It seems like the new account staff are more inclined to set you up on a new plan than to decrease your rates. Consult the Quickbooks Payments website for the number. You can also email customer service.

Find a POS system that works best for you
3/5

Qb v12 was just installed a few weeks ago at my company. The news is incredibly disappointing to me. While it might appear that the reporting function offers a wide variety of options, to me, it is woefully lacking. When looking at sales for a given period, it is pretty easy to see how many of each item were Additionally, it is fairly easy for you to identify the amount of dollars your customers spent. It is impossible to obtain a report that describes both information at the same time, so you cannot get a report that describes your customers and then includes what and how many they bought. The report does not export correctly from Excel when it is exported. We have a number format that often goes like this It is xxx. From now on, it will send some of these to Excel in date format completely at random. Here is an example of a 6- During the month of June, 2248 will appear in my Microsoft Excel spreadsheet There is a problem with cell format when it is changed to a general or text format, and reverting to 06- will not work However, I didn't include any hyphens. So it's some completely different number. In light of the fact that I am in the first 30 On days when I call their 800 number, I receive "free" support. I still cannot get an agent to help me with these two issues. The wait time to get an agent is not terrible. It has taken less than five minutes on both of these occasions. If you get them, it feels like it takes forever, but once you do, it actually While the English is so-so, some of the agents put you on hold for long periods of time. During my call today, I spent over an hour on hold with only a few minutes of actual communication. A minute. As soon as you ask a question, you are put on hold for 10 minutes After a few minutes, I get an answer that doesn't really help, so I ask another question, and then I get put on hold again for how long I can take. Previously, we used Retail Star, which has a whole other set of problems, but you could pretty much get the data out of it in whatever way you wanted. It seems I just assumed when my boss announced we were switching to a QuickBooks product that it would be a huge A part of me thinks I'm trading one set of problems for a whole new set. My bias is that there is a best POS system out there than QuickBooks.
