TurboTax Deluxe 2004 [Old Version]

I have all my Intuit software running on my old Pentium III 733MHZ PC, that is why I was very dissatisfied after loading TurboTax 2004 Deluxe on the PC and it froze up when I tried to file my My problem was that I uninstalled, then reinstalled We've installed it. Unfortunately, you didn't get any luck! Then I ordered it to be installed on my Windows XP machine. The installation was successful (so far), but I had to manually input all the information that could have been imported by the software if everything had been on the same machine. I have a tax edge. It never occurred to me to look at these reviews, since Turbo Tax has ALWAYS done a great job for me. Thank you for informing me about their outsourcing to India - really sorry to hear this. The job I had in programming was transferred there. You can only do what you can The only tax software we recommend is the software used by professional CPAs, since it meets all the requirements for our purpose.

It is claimed on the company's Web site that customers who purchase TurboTax Deluxe receive a complimentary copy of their state return. One and a half hours later My first hour is filled with wading through web information and the box (much of which is conflicting). Finally, I discover that I have to purchase the state package, submit a rebate form, then wait for six weeks to receive a rebate I had to wait 8 weeks for my state purchase to be returned. The State Package does not have to be in the box. That's fine with me. However, they could at least have thought of a way to make us qualify for a free download with a license number or a bar code on For Intuit to promote the state package as free (without strings attached), then require me to pay $29, it appears to be misleading. This is dishonest. If they wish to say up to $195 for that package, that is true. If you want to let us know up front that it's a rebate, that is Rather than saying the state package is free, they say you have to buy the federal package, only to catch you once you've used the product for a while. What is really dishonest about this is that Intuit is making lots of money off this "free" product. I am taking 8 weeks off. The second was that they made it so difficult to figure out how to get the state package rebate that many people (including the poster below) ended up buying the state package since they weren't aware of what was available. In my view, it is likely that 20% of those who purchase this package will also pay full price for the State package as well. Having been a TT user for 7+ years, I must say 2004 will be my last year to use it. As soon as I paid $40 for Deluxe, the tax collectors fleeced me for another $30 so that I could complete the ESPP section. There was no warning that this change (fewer features for the same price) would occur since it was previously included in Deluxe. Aside from that, I'm tired of the terrible support and the rebate game I have to play every year to get back my $10 or $30. Look forward to checking out TaxAct and TaxCut in the new.

There are a lot of reviews on Amazon for TurboTax that are negative. There has been a lot of discussion about Comet over the years, however I perceive it to be an excellent product at a minimal price. Using TurboTax on my Mac has freed me from the burden of having to hire a CPA to file my taxes. Intuit deserves a huge thanks. With Intuit tax programs, I've been using them for over a decade and never have I encountered a problem I couldn't resolve myself. For those who wish to prepare their taxes themselves without the aid of professionals, TurboTax is the only software that I would recommend. I just want to point something out. There is also an Amazon promotion certificate for ten dollars. Among the rebates that don't appear on amazon's buying information page are two offered by Intuit with your purchase of this product You will receive a ten dollar rebate if you purchase the product and a rebate of one state tax filing program if you purchase the program in its entirety.

The product was purchased because I had a VERY specific need for it. I was pleased to see that my product arrived within 3 weeks. As much as I looked forward to using it, I dreaded With the other products available from Turbo Tax, I have had great success. My first step was to install it and get started. After receiving a message saying the product was no longer available, I went to the website. The disc was unusable and I was stuck with a blank many times to reach out to the seller and the company, but have never been able to reach anyone. I now have a limited amount of time. It is no longer possible for me to use Turbo Tax. I have to look for another product.

It's true that the interface is constantly evolving, sometimes not in a good way. The reason why I dislike hearing about their products -- especially It's Deductible for, for example -- is the repetition of the request. You can give money as a charitable contribution. Who is complaining that rebates are being sent in? Have you ever received a rebate without having to write in to request it? It is at least this year that you can fill out the forms online and then print them out when they're ready. Whether you bought the Deluxe or the Standalone version, you still received State for free, a $10 rebate for TT, and a free electronic filing. Honestly, I want to know what you people want. Unless you have a real need for it, this software will do what you need at a reasonable price. If you have another need, try that instead. Even if it is not perfect, you will find like I did that TT is the best there is.

So far I have not had the chance to review this after it was purchased on Amazon. I was confused regarding the state rebate, so here is the scoop. Inside the box (deluxe edition, anyway) is a coupon for the state rebate, or you can do it online. It can be purchased from a store, downloaded, or sent as a "product shipment from intuit". There is a rebate of up to 29 percent. Sorry if I confused you, but I hope this makes sense now.
