A foot was caught, resulting in a broken leg. One of my hamsters broke his leg after getting caught in this. It was only when we discovered him that he was buried. The leg of this man is broken after he was pulled out of the water. After visiting the vet, we do not know if he will survive. If he does survive, his life will be forever changed. They make excellent hides for rodents of all sizes. It is, however, for rodents smaller than a mouse. In this case, I mean rats, gerbils, or mice. I bought these as ramps to make it easier for my guinea pigs to get into their litter box (they can crawl in, but I want them to have more options). That's not even close to what they can do. We intended to use them as hides for our baby guinea pigs, so I tried them as hides. These babies are very young, now only 5 weeks old, and would be perfect for use as a hide for a short period. But it is just barely big enough to be used as a hide. It has been a pleasure working with them. It doesn't matter how big. I don't think it will.
Getting under this bridge proved very enjoyable to my dwarf hamster. It enjoyed chewing on the bridge and sleeping beneath it.
