There is a requirement for water for amoebas. just dust. My chinchilla has never shown an interest in it.

What are the health risks associated with aluminum silicate dust?

Due to allergies, if I let this stuff go without my pills, it kills I have no problems with my chinchillas, and they love the food. Children in my family are 6 and 4 and have been using it since they were small.

You should never use this product on Please be aware. You should never use this product on Not long after I ordered this product, one of my chinchillas started losing fur. I thought dust was all similar, so I thought it was this product. After I took her to the vet, he told me that she was pulling and expressed uncertainty as to After this went on for a couple months, I did laundry and discovered this product contains aluminum silicate (glass and sand), which is what was making her itch and pull her hair. The fur of her chest has grown back after switching back to the All living things dust bath (which claims to contain no sand or glass). In my case, there is only one chinchilla, and the other one does not seem to bother it, but I don't want to take any chances, and I will make sure to.

I recommend you DO NOT purchase the following items Chinchilla was sent to the emergency room
3/5

While Petco wasn't open during Covid, I bought it instead of their dust bath. I usually go for the Petco brand dust bath, but this isn't as bad. It has been a while since I used their dust, but I have used other items from the brand before. While I did notice it seemed thicker and heavier than what I usually get, I didn't pay much I began sneezing right after giving my chin a bath. The only thing I would guess that she did was get some in her nose. She then began having a runny nose with yellow discharge the following day. Upon returning home from work, I saw that she had scratched her nose so much that she was bleeding because she was trying to wipe off all the discharge. The time came for her to be rushed to the hospital, and I was forced to contact the hospital emergency department. After spending $150 and taking four medications, I'm still alive. It is never ever ever ever going to happen that I purchase again from this brand. Petco was still closed when I got my chin to her usual dust bath. I waited until her nose was fully healed before I got her to the shop.

Make sure you know what you're buying

The Kaytee Chinchilla dust bath I use now is very different from that which I used in the past, even my chinchilla seems to notice the My little guy usually takes around 10 minutes to complete a dust bath, but this time around he rolled around in it for just a minute or two. The container itself may also give us some insight. In this dust bath, there is more inconsistency than previous ones such as the label itself says in a larger font "Chinchilla Bath Dust," not just "Chinchilla Dust. ". On the side of the dust bath, we see "Made in China", which was not there before. Furthermore, the container has a different look from those that came before. Kaytee chinchilla dust baths are currently different from previous versions because the ridges on the cap, the sticker for the expiration date, and the handle to pick up the container are different.

I recommend that you do not buy

have bought this brand twice and I can tell why it is so much cheaper than others. In terms of its texture, it's more like a flour I couldn't get my chinchillas to roll in it because it had a different consistency from dust. As you can see in the picture I posted, I compared this brand (Kaytee) to Oxbow brand in order to demonstrate I don't think this is worth the money.

Even if you don't own a Chinchilla, you can use this dust in your home! Originally, I ordered sand but this ended up here instead
5/5

Due to my Robo hamster's inability to use it (dust is bad for hamsters respiratory health), I had it sitting around until I could figure out how to use it. I had an opportunity to make some money when one of my cats vomited on the floor and left a nasty, gooey mess behind. Can you still remember the soap and water the school janitor used to clean vomit off I can tell you that this dust did just what it was supposed to. Rather than using tons of paper towels, it absorbed the liquid and allowed the whole mess to be swept into a dust pan. As soon as the dust was swept up and mopped off the floor in the nooks and crannies of my fake fireplace, I was able to tidy it up. Floors that are made of wood. Although, I have no experience with chinchillas, that is probably why this dust works so well for them, but unlike you, I don't have one, so my review isn't very useful when it comes to knowing how it does for a In the unlikely event that you ordered it by mistake like I did, you can get creative and use it for any liquid spills that you don't want to waste half a roll of paper towels on.

I have noticed irritation in the eyes of my chinchilla with the new formula
3/5

kaytee uses a new formula now, which I am very disappointed in. It has been over five years since I've used this product and my chinchilla has been perfectly fine. However, Kaytee changed the formula recently and it is terrible now It gets very dusty in the house My Chinchilla started getting more eye irritations due to.

My chinchilla was forced to pull out its fur when I touched it
3/5

My entire room and cage are super dusty, as well as everything it touches is covered in a layer of dust, and my chinchilla is pulling out all of his fur because of it. I looked it up and it said that it may be because of irritants like GLASS in the dust baths. Your chinchilla does not need this! You won't want to put your pet through that kind of pain.

Don't be bad with what you do
3/5

It's not something I would buy When I was a kid, I would buy this stuff all the time for my Chinchilla. My understanding is that they did something different now, but I'm not sure what it was. In place of the scoop, they threw in a broken plastic spoon, there's an "Best before" sticker on it, and the dust is clumpy with a different texture. I can now feel that the fur on my chinchilla is a bit softer. It feels dirty and greasy, with grainy bits embedded in her fur, instead of having nice, soft fur. It is not a product I would recommend.
