dust that is extremely fine It's a big hit with my hamster.
I bought it for my chinchilla and found it to be a much better dust than the glittery, fiberglass-shard-filled stuff I was getting from pet stores. My chinchilla's fur has been extremely soft and clean since I switched to this brand. However, I believe you need sand for a hamster rather than dust; I just googled it and found that dust can cause respiratory problems in hamsters, and since they clean themselves anyway, perhaps you shouldn't risk it? Of course, it's up to you, but chinchillas require dust because they have a higher ratio of hair to follicle than other animals. There are approximately 60 hairs per follicle, and dust is required to keep oil at bay.
This is not the case. Pumice in its most basic form.

Because of all the negative reviews on dust baths, I was afraid to try it.
BREATHING IN IS DANGEROUS FOR YOUR HAMSTER! BUYING FOR A HAMSTER IS NOT A GOOD IDEA: This is bath DUST, not sand, and inhaling it is hazardous to your pets! When I realized this, I stopped using it, and my hamster is now perfectly content with his sand bath. He used to avoid it at all costs.
I've been using it for a few days and have been blown away by the results. Both in terms of their appearance and their coats. I've tried nearly every brand in the hopes of finding something similar. The others possessed an excessive amount of "glitter?" ", to "dusty," or simply didn't appear to be cleaning their fur. Despite the fact that this is more than I am used to paying for dust, I am unable to return. As we all know, chins are super soft, but they can feel a little coarse after a bath, but not with this dust; they have never felt softer. It's as if they went out and bought a new coat for themselves. Amazing. When I ran out of dust, I came across it while looking for the best. There were a few on the list, but this one comes straight from the Andes Mountains, promising a healthy sheen to the coat. This is something you should try; they'll appreciate it.
It's very nice, and it has a distinct feel to it, as if everything else before it was completely wrong. I mean, the most recent brand I tried, Katee or something similar, had shards of something sharp in it. I can't imagine how that would make my chin, eyes, or nose feel. Anyway, for the time being, I'm going to stick with this.
My chinchillas are fed dust. They were enamored with the dust and quickly adapted. I like that the product is sourced sustainably from the Andes, which is where chinchillas originate. This is a fantastic product, especially for the price, as most other options (especially at pet stores) cost twice as much for half the amount of dust, and the packaging is the only drawback in my opinion. It's inconvenient to pour into a dust bath, and it doesn't reseal well without spilling dust (which is very messy), so I ended up storing it in a different container, which is the only reason for the 4 star rating. Overall, however, I would strongly suggest this product.
" Idaho's pumice deposits are considered to be the purest in the world. "On the other hand, the bag says," says the narrator. The purest pumice deposits on the planet, straight from the Andes Mountains. Our chinchilla, on the other hand, is a big fan of it! We used to buy Kaytee, but reviews say it's no longer pure pumice, and he'd jump in for a quick bath and then jump out. He doesn't want to leave because of the dust. And when he does, it's with a softness rather than a harshness.
This dust is fantastic, and I'm going to use it exclusively from now on. It is suitable for people who have allergies. I have a severe allergy to which I did not initiate treatment. Furthermore, it is not universal. It didn't leave the tub. I recommend using this dust if you suffer from severe allergies, as I do.
I've used it a few times now, and his fur looks great and doesn't irritate his eyes. Plus, there aren't any glitz and glam. Thank you for the wonderful dust!.
