I have a small dog, and since the photo depicted a small dog, I expected something in that size. Our small dog is terrified of this brush because it is so large. It's heavy, and despite the fact that I have arthritis, I found the cleaning brush's button to be extremely difficult to activate and deactivate. I was disappointed because I had hoped this would be a good product, so I returned it and will look for one in a store to see if I can find something better.

My old brush had thin wire bristles that were excellent for removing loose fur while being gentle on the pets. When I needed a new brush, I came across this one. It's fantastic. The bristles are revealed when you press the button. Brush your pet, then press the button again to retract the bristles, allowing the fur to remain on the brush. You swipe the fur and toss it in the trash. When I tried to remove the fur from the bristles of my old brush, I would prick my thumb. This is effective on both cats and dogs.

This works well for picking up hair on my flat-coated retriever. Hair is easily released thanks to the push button. It's also effective on my feline companions.
