That is an excellent query. Except for dogs with no hair, you can comb your hair for any breed of dog. You can even comb your own hair if you want to, which is very convenient.
My cat had short hair, so I used mine on her. My cat was able to use it successfully. It's possible that the bristles are too short and don't reach far enough for your dog.

It's a hit with both the cat and me. Because of my arthritic hands, it's a little difficult for me to press the cleaning button, but it's very effective.
It works on short haired people as well, but the release cleanup isn't as satisfying.
It's simple to use and clean, and it's popular with the cat.
It's a fantastic brush, and I adore it! Because some of the bristles were smashed to the side and bent when it arrived, I'm only giving it one star.
