There is only one vegetable in this one. The rat I am looking after was orphaned along just a few days old, he's a wild roof rat and doesn't eat meat at all. The best we could do was try. LOL He only eats fruits and vegetables, so I give him these foods. I have found Oxbow to be the best rat food to purchase and my rats will enjoy eating it. This might be of use to you.
The meal is made up of fish meal
The rats I bought and the ones I raised at my house have been stunningly beautiful for seven years. Fish meal is contained in the product, but you should not solely eat the product if you want to keep your rats When my rats are full grown, they have shiny fur, a regular bowel movement, and a shiny coat. It isn't necessary to affect their nutrition because their lives are too short. An ingredient list is on the back of the package online or at your local pet store that carries the brand. Good luck to you and your pet.

The purpose of this purchase is to supplement my non-fiction rants Vegetarian Oxbow food is a favorite among them. As if I was giving them a treat, they enjoyed it so much. The vegetables in this item could be used better, so I intend to purchase more of it when the time comes. While I do not plan to feed my rats oysters as their primary diet, I do plan to feed them beef liver and beef liver broth as well, which I think is as close to their wild diets While I am a vegetarian myself, I do not wish to interfere with their health, values, or natural instincts in any way. Every once in a while, rats enjoy a chicken bone to chew on.
Harlan Teklad (aka Envigo) lab blocks 14% are now the only ones I use for my rats. agree that Teklad is a better food and offers more protein options, most of the time I had to have it shipped (expensive!) and it came as half blocks and half dust. I have had issues with it either being unavailable or being late when it was shipped. Consequently, I switched to this after receiving a recommendation from the rescue from which I adopted my rats. a cage of two senior males and a cage of four younger females (and never the two shall meet LOL) and all of them seem to be enjoying it. They eat it and play with it right away. It will go well for you. I have three males, all of whom are close to three years old. If the food does not contain GMOs, I would be willing to pay more. Although I usually buy a batch of 4 at a time, so the shipping is free, I do wish Amazon offered the 20# bag for those of us who have more rats.
Rats turned their noses up at us when we tried to convert them to this method. These blocks do not appeal to them as much as the standard food. As a result of digestive issues that lasted past a week, one of the rats who ate them was no longer fed. In the future, I will continue using the original Oxbow format.
On most of our mornings, we serve spaghetti, Cheerios, rice, peanuts, eggs, a sprinkle of 'treat food,' and a little bit of spaghetti water. Their weight seems to stay stable and they won't become too light or too heavy on it.
There was one in particular that caused diarrhea in my boys.
Though I think this is a really good food for raw dogs, my own doesn't seem to really enjoy.
It is better for the constantly growing teeth of your rat to eat this block diet. However, other mixed diets do nothing but rot rats' food because they choose their favorite treats and leave the rest behind, leading to unbalanced diets. The block food is balanced and does not promote unhealthy eating habits. As well as the food, and a few treats, you should still give your rats daily hands-outs of fresh fruit and vegetables.
