If you're trying to do a larger pre-mix, I'd recommend getting aquarum salt, which is similar to table salt but has a lot more in it and comes with instructions for gallons. I've started using it for my crabs and it's safe for them. good luck
My wife looks after them; I believe they came with instructions.
I give my crab two large water dishes in which he can climb. The first is salt, and the second is water. It's fresh water that I see in my crab's drink.

I put this in a ceramic dish for hermit crabs and added it to the water. Crabs crawl inside and drink the salty water. They appear to enjoy both salt and plain water dishes.
This stuff is a big hit with our crab. Nothing else has been able to entice him out of his daytime hiding spot. He's come out every day since we put it in the tank to eat it.
It's becoming increasingly difficult to come by this salt. The major pet stores in my area, such as Petco and PetSmart, don't seem to have it anymore, and buying it pre-owned is out of the question. It's way too expensive to buy pre-made salt water; this is much cheaper and lasts much longer. I'm also glad that Amazon has finally made it available as a NON ADD ON product because sometimes all I need is a few small items and I don't want to have to spend $25 or more to get them. So, thank you, Amazon, and Flukers, for giving my crabs the gift of life-saving salt.
I didn't have to go into a smelly pet store to get it, and it was simple to use.
Great product! I like that I can mix it with water to make our crabs' salt water bath. The price of a 16-ounce bottle is $3. This is a fantastic deal at only $50! To make the salt water, I buy a bottle of spring water and add two teaspoons of salt. It appears to be popular with our crabs, and I appreciate the cost savings! Win- win!.
That's good enough for me. This small bottle will also last me a long time because making a 1/4 cup of saltwater soak for their dish only takes 1/4 teaspoon. So far, I've made four batches, and the contents barely fit under the lip. Much less expensive than what was on offer at the pet store.
Otherwise, everything is fine; the crab appears to enjoy the salt water. The only thing I wish for is a seal on the lid. This container will absorb moisture and become liquid salt due to the humidity before we can finish it.
Very well packaged. It was exactly what I expected. Very well packaged. Thank you very much.
