How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

SAddle Butter cleans and protects fine leathers from the three worst enemies of fine leathers: the sun, wet weather, and your animal's sweat.
ALL NATURAL INGREDIENTS - Beeswax, Brazilian carnauba wax, tallow, and pure neatsfoot oil are among the ingredients in this product. There are no modern synthetics, mineral oils, or commonly used leather-treating chemicals in any of the ingredients, which are all 100% animal or plant-based.
SMALL BATCHES AND THE MOST LOCALLY SOURCED INGREDIENTS - Saddle Butter is a blend of fine caranauba wax and neatsfoot oil that is still made in small batches with the highest quality locally sourced ingredients.
MADE IN THE USA - Since its introduction in 1936, Saddle Butter has maintained its all-natural formula, making it one of the best leather care products available. It works by replacing natural oils in leather that have been lost due to use and exposure with a blend of the finest natural oils and fats that have the same properties as those found in the leather.

Questions & Answers

Is there any alcohol in the saddle butter?

There is no alcohol in this product.

Is this a good gun holster cleaner, conditioner, and preservative?

This is effective at restoring dried-out leather and removing dirt from surfaces. It may significantly darken the leather, as with most cleaners/conditioners. Apply saddle butter with a wax applicator pad, then wipe away any excess. Continue buffing off excess material if the surface feels sticky to the touch.

I'm looking for something to soften the leather on my saddle and make it a little tacky. Is this going to be sufficient?

I'm not sure how tacky it'll make your saddle, but I know it'll be good for the leather. Our saddles, chaps, and boots are all covered in it.

Is it safe to use this product on untreated leather handbags?

This product can be used on leather that hasn't been treated in any way. Because saddle butter contains natural oils and waxes, it may cause some leathers to darken slightly, depending on the tanning process used.

Can take care of your leather requirements
5/5

I used it on an older saddle and rubbed it in with my hands as directed on neglected leather that had become hard. The next morning, the leather was supple and soft. I've also tried it on good-quality leather. I'm happy with the outcome. A single product that performs multiple functions. There's nothing more you can ask for.

Simply The Best is, as the name implies, the best leather conditioner I've ever used
5/5

All of your tack will fit perfectly in this bag. It only takes a little to make a big difference. If you use too much, your leather will turn white after a while. The trick is to work it in thoroughly with your hands' warmth. Allow at least 24 hours for it to dry before applying a second coat.

This is fantastic

This saddle conditioner is a dream come true for me. I used Lexol to clean and condition my tack when I was a kid. Ray Holes Saddle Butter is so much better than Lexol, not that Lexol is a bad product. It comes highly recommended. The seller also provided excellent shipping.

Great stuffbr>I was given a Ray Holes saddle that had been sitting for a long time and was in desperate need of serious conditioning. What a difference since I bought it. It's an excellent item.

Work boots are perfect
5/5

This worked wonders on my steel toe work boots, which had dried out and started cracking, restoring them to new condition. If you rub it in with your bare hands, the substance will be heated, allowing for better smoothing and absorption.

It was well worth the money
5/5

This is incredible. It breathes new life into leather that has become a little worn out. A little goes a long way, and massaging it in with your hands or exposing the leather to indirect sunlight softens it even more. It has no effect on the color of leather. The saddle in the photo was very dry, but as the saddle butter absorbed, it became a little lighter.

So far, everything has gone well
4/5

This was purchased in order to test bridles and saddles. I've always preferred German-based conditioners, so I decided to give this one a try after reading positive reviews. When I first open it, it appears to be firmer than usual. It'll have to go inside, I suppose.
