Questions & Answers
No, it's just a cover to keep the dust and rain out. The corners are elasticized, and there is a pocket to store your stirrups. It does not go all the way around the saddle's bottom. br>Mine performed admirably in a downpour, lasting 6 hours while keeping my saddle dry underneath.
I purchased two of them, and they are of excellent quality. A 16-inch Circle Y saddle is covered once. The other one is for a 14-inch barrel saddle with a pony saddle on top.
I'm covering a Circle Y 16" gaited saddle with it. Then, on top of that, I have a 14" saddle with a pony saddle on top of it, which covers both of them. They are, in my opinion, attractive and well-made covers.
It certainly ought to. I have a 16" and a 17" and they both fit perfectly.
Selected User Reviews For Harrison Howard 1680 Denier Waterproof Western Saddle Cover
All of their saddle covers are fantastic. All of them are fantastic. The colors, fit, and selection are all fantastic. The western ones are a good fit for both my Circle Y and my Imus 4 Beat (16 and 17 inch seats). Both saddles have a large seat and a deep seat. I also have the dressage cover, which is large enough to fit a large saddle. I would strongly suggest it.
It would take a lot to rip the material, and I mean a LOT to rip it. Liquids wick away from the material as well. When I went to get a fly spray refill from a shelf above, the cap was missing, and it fell onto my saddles, spilling all over them if it hadn't run right off the covers. My saddle didn't get a drop of liquid on it, but my floor didn't fare as well. I'm going to get one for each saddle I own! They're also available in a variety of fun colors.
I bought it to keep my new western saddle safe. I got the color I wanted and it fit my saddle at a great price. The fabric is not flimsy and is of good quality. I like how it's held in place by elastics.
The only problem is that the stirrups are quite long, so mine don't go all the way into them, but they still rest on top.
I was looking for a simple on/off cover for my work saddle to keep the dust off after learning that zipped covers are bad for leather because they don't allow it to breathe. In addition, using the zipper covers on a daily basis is a pain.
Excellent quality for the price, and it perfectly fits my western saddle.
It's only the cover. However, it functions flawlessly. It has elastic straps that hold the stirrups in place and protect the saddle's edges. It appeals to my tastes.
