Questions & Answers

What makes this product different from Lexol conditioner? Both of these books have a lot of positive feedback. My furniture is made of leather. ?

Fieblings is 100% Neatsfoot oil, exactly what you want to restore old, dryish leather with. Lexol, which is made up of Neatsfoot oil and some fats, soaks into the material and revitalizes it with repeated applications by replenishing the essential oils that the skin has lost. This, I believe, is to reduce slickness so that it does not become greasy or oily to the touch when used on furniture and other items. Other factors could also be at play.

Does this oil waterproof and condition work boots at the same time?

They don't waterproof the boots, in my opinion. It provides some water resistance, but it does not keep them dry. However, it is an excellent product that I strongly recommend.

I've always used a natural sponge to apply it and rubbed it in a circular motion. Is there a benefit to using a paint brush instead of a paintbrush?

A sponge or a soft cloth has always been my go-to cleaning tool. I believe I get better coverage this way than I do with a brush. Personally, I don't see any benefit to using a brush other than speed of application; I believe a sponge or a soft cloth provides better and more complete coverage.

I have a pair of chaps, and I'm wondering if 32 ozs is enough for one coat. ?

My purchase was to soften deer hides; the oil is mixed with warm water and a fels naptha soap; you need the soap to emulsify the oil; soak the material; then wring the leather; I need a couple of ounces of oil per hide, about the same amount as a pair of chaps. The leather will almost certainly need stretching as it dries. Unless the chaps were hardened by a soaking rain, it was a lot of effort.

Purchase it and install it in your vehicle
5/5

It is, without a doubt, the best leather product available. br>I used the pure oil on my leather car seats because it can be applied to finished leather. It took a couple of weeks for it to sink in in the 100-degree summer heat. I couldn't deglaze the leather because I didn't want to ruin it, so I had to wait. br>If I really wanted it to soak in quickly, I could have used acetone to remove the top layer coating from the leather. If I'm re-elected, I'd like to do that. I could dye a handbag or a pair of shoes, but it's too much effort for my car's interior. br> In the meantime, I covered it with plastic, and my seats are unbelievably supple and soft. It's a great way to keep your leather seats from cracking and ripping apart as they get older. Before you buy leather conditioning blends in a bottle, try this first if you really want to take care of your car's interior: I can't tell you how much leather conditioner I tried and didn't get any results before I found this. Money that could have been better spent. After pouring some oil into an empty, clean pickle jar, I painted it on with a short bristle, wide paintbrush. It took me only a few minutes to complete. br>Don't make the same mistake I did and buy it the first time! A lifetime supply of 32 ounces (I only used about 1/8th of that on all of my car seats) The amount of time it takes to condition small leather goods is negligible. br>At some point, you're going to need it. If you're not a vegan, that is. If that's the case, don't buy it because it's made from animals that have died.

On old leather boots, the stuff worked well
5/5

I bought this to try on the leather seats in my Town car, but was disappointed to learn that it would make them darker, so I didn't. I was about to throw away my money when I remembered an old pair of Vasque hiking boots I had bought in the 1970s. Because the leather on the boots was nearly unwearable due to its hardness and stiffness, I decided to give Neatsfoot oil a try. I applied the oil several times a day using an old toothbrush. After about 7 coats, the oil was no longer absorbing into the leather, so I wiped them down with a dry cloth and set them aside for a few days. The leather was definitely more pliable when I finally went to lace the boots back up and give them a try. I wore the boots into town the other day and they felt great; I didn't think this stuff would work, but it did, and now I have my vintage waffle stompers back.

Bring your saddlebags back to life! On a 1998 Harley Davidson, this oil made a huge difference in some misshapen, dried-out saddlebags
5/5

I've used a variety of oils and products to treat my leather goods, and I've never seen such a difference. I poured the oil into the saddlebags and rubbed it in until it was no longer easily absorbed, which took about three days and two or three applications per day. The saddlebags are now supple, waterproof, and, for the most part, in good shape, thanks to proper hydration. I'm so happy I can't stand it, because I was convinced this was a last-ditch effort before purchasing some new bags. I wish I had taken before and after photos because the difference is so noticeable. I didn't think it was worth it because I had not anticipated such positive results. This is incredible, and I can't say enough good things about it. Because so much of the color has been restored, I don't think I'll even need to use the docs leather dye I bought. After the two saddlebags and the tank bib, I'm down to half a container. The oil has a faint odor, but given the results, I wouldn't be put off by it.

This is the genuine article
5/5

I have a 20-year-old, extremely expensive leather couch. I never thought I'd be able to restore the leather due to wear and sun damage (which comes in through our windows). The couch is in a room we don't use very often, and I've been ignoring it until recently. Other products I've tried have been a waste of money and a joke! When I finally did some research on leather care, I discovered that neatsfoot oil was highly recommended. So I went to Amazon and found that Fiebing's brand was 100% pure and 100% cheap. Because I don't want to mislead anyone looking for the same results as me, I only give a product 5 stars if I am completely satisfied with it. I was skeptical at first, but I was blown away by how well this product restored my leather couch. I applied the product twice with a soft cloth on the first day (due to years of neglect). After I've allowed it to dry or soak in (I'm not sure which), I could not believe my eyes. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the results. I'm going to put on a new coat tomorrow just to soften and revive the heavily worn leather. I wish I had taken a before and after photo to show other buyers the difference, and I hope anyone who tries this product is as happy as I am.

It's something I'll never be without! The oil from Neatsfoot is incredible
5/5

I used to use it on my saddles and bridles as a kid, but with all the new products on the market these days, I've drifted away. Finally, let's return to the fundamentals - I recall why now. I wish I had taken before photos of the saddle I rescued from a dusty old tack room with no air conditioning. Overall, it was a light atmosphere. a colored layer with water stains, a dust layer, and mold beneath the dust It looked a lot better after I cleaned it with glycerine soap and treated it with Lexol. But after a few treatments with neatsfoot oil, wow - it's completely transformed. It's hard to believe this is the same saddle as when I first started. It did darken the leather (which is usually a good thing in the saddle world). (At least, that's how I feel about it). And darkening evened out the splotchy spots and water stains, relaxed the creases from drying out, and brought the leather back to life. My only gripe was that I ordered 64 oz and only received 32, but Amazon is working with me to resolve that. Excellent item - I'm going to buy more. time after time.
