Please be careful how long you leave the fan running, as evaporation will start to drastically lower the level of water in your aquarium after a few days. Except for that, the product can be described as fantastic and does exactly what it says. In just a couple of hours, my tank went from 64 degrees to a nice, chilled 55 degrees, thanks to the axolotl. I am sure she will enjoy it a lot.
bought this fan for my 20 gallon tank for my Axolotl and I am very happy with it. The fan I had before this one was really bad at cooling down the water and I would see the water temperature continually rise. From 70 degrees to 64, this fan was able to reduce the temperature. My axie is no longer stressed and I no longer have to worry about it.
It's my rescuer from fish/coral peril. The tank holds 5 gallons. Keeping my fish cool with this fan has saved their lives. Currently, I own the Fluval Evo 13, which is a good product. I have a 5 gallon saltwater tank and live in Southern California. My new tank had to be set up this last month because I could not control the tank's Seeing as I am gone 12 hours a day, I refuse to keep the AC running much lower than it should be to keep the tank temperature down. It was interesting to see how others had placed their fans over the edge. I think I will do it too. My tank allows me to lay it over my filtration area since it has a setup like that. When I set my heater to a temperature I don't want to go below, I turn it on and both fan and heater keep the temp at that I want. As water evaporates through the fan, water in a salt water aquarium will cool, so ensure you have freshwater on hand or in easy reach. During the hottest time of the year in September, I emptied a five gallon jug of fresh water in two weeks because I don't have an RO system. As I only have 10 gallons of saltwater in the tank, this was quite a bit. There isn't an excessive amount of noise coming from the fan.
Ahhh, we used to freeze to death in order to prevent our house from staying cold enough to keep the tank at 70 or just below 70 degrees, but now I bought this fan and it has dropped the tank to 64 degrees! I might just move into this house! Keeping well beneath 70 is consistent and continues to be so! Only down side is that it makes a sound, kinda like a white noise but you get used to it soon enough.
A tank can only be used with this product if it does not have a black rim. A screw holds it into place on top of this system. It slides onto the top and slides onto the screws. Aside from that, the fans appear to be working I am happy to report that my tank temperature has dropped from 73 degrees to 68 degrees.
A couple of these came with my Nano 13 and were attached to it. Tank with a capacity of 5 gallons. When I had the temperature set on the lowest setting, it brought it down perfectly. With this unit, you can adjust the speed and height so that it does not disturb the sound of the water or fans. It was a great purchase that I will definitely buy again in the future.
In order to maintain the temperature at 68*, I had to put ice in every couple of hours. One day after fans were put out, the temperature dropped to 66* and has stayed there all day. Although it does not seem like it has that much power, the fans work flawlessly.
Because of the summer, I bought this because the higher temperature in my freshwater shrimp aquarium is causing bacteria outbreaks. It was my attempt to try and cool it down that led to the purchase of Initially, I had the unit shipped elsewhere, but as soon as I got it, I plugged the A/C plug into the fan and tested it (it functioned properly). I had no idea the device would go out as soon as I got home, so when I set it up, it malfunctioned! I had to open it to find out that the mechanism that held the A/C adapter in place was already broken before I even had a chance to use it properly. The pin that goes into the adapter had been pushed inside after just one plug. The whole thing is a waste of both Although I normally would return it, I cannot return it until I am away from home and need the fan, so I had to unscrew everything and hot glue it back into its slot, hoping that it will work. In this case, I would just pass on the product and consider finding something of better quality, as this is a waste of my.
