The suction cups on this container aren't strong enough to hold it for long. To hold for long periods of time, you'll need to invent some sort of hook contraption. It does, however, serve a purpose.
It's barely noticeable, particularly in the tank's back.
Without some engineering changes to the connectors built into the walls, the product would not be able to expand. You'd be better off building your own or buying a larger nursery, in my opinion.
It will fit any tank that is larger than the dimensions of the tank. It makes no difference in terms of gallons; you must go by the measurements. The dimensions for this tank are listed below; measure your tank and proceed from there.

Ok so this is the perfect acclimation boxbr>I know they call it a breeder box but I don't see how you can keep fry in itbr>I use it as an acclimation box where I put "small" new fish so the other fish get used to them and don't attack thembr>Building this out of acrylic would cost more but i like how it's collapsible for when I don't need it just put all the little parts in Please take a moment to click on "helpful" to let me know if you found my review helpful.
Since adding a school of silver dollar, my betta has begun to hide in the plants. This was purchased to set him apart from the other fish in the tank. After a few weeks, I felt bad about confining him in such a small space, so I let him out and reintroduced him to the rest of the community, but I noticed he continued to hang out next to this box. As a result, I reduced the height of the box by about a foot. 2" below the surface of the water - There was just enough room for him to get through, but not enough for the larger fish. I discovered him inside the box the next morning, which he appears to prefer because he rarely leaves it. br>br>The photo shows the box inside my 37 gallon aquarium as a point of reference.
This is a fantastic product that has been meticulously crafted. It takes some time to remove the protective cover from the plates, and I didn't see any instructions, but here are three things to keep in mind: The fastening units (16) attach on the inside with the screws on the outside (I only hand tightened, but a small philips screwdriver could be used), the hinges (2) attach on the outside with the screws on the outside, and the side plates can only attach to the bottom plate in one orientation. Even before the fastening units are installed, these plates fit snugly. Some people may care about where the hinge is placed in relation to the suction cups, so keep that in mind when attaching the top plate hinges (either of these can take the hinges). One of the long plates has two additional holes about a quarter down from the top (larger drilled holes) which are for the suction cups which have screw caps which screw in from the inside. My suction cups did a good job of keeping me in place. When you press these, you can actually see the air push out, so get as much air out as possible. This could be used to acclimate or isolate fish because it can hold several small and medium-sized fish. For larger fish, it's probably a little too small- 3 inches and up The water flow is fantastic. The holes in the plates are probably about 1/8 inch in diameter or slightly smaller. Obviously, this is not appropriate for small baby fish. According to the label on the package, this product is made in the United Kingdom.
Just so everyone is clear. The top is not cut out as shown in the advertisement or ad's photos. br>br>The cutouts in the instructions were not what I was expecting. To demonstrate the difference, I've attached photos. Small fish (guppies, platy, FW shrimp, SW clown goby, small wrasses, etc. ) could fit through the top holes, in my opinion. This is a concern for me because I'm trying to keep an anemone in this box, and anemones are notorious for squeezing out of tight spaces. The center hole in the top of each cut out is about the size of a dime, and it's there that I'm most worried about escape. br>The instructions are adequate but lacking in detail in terms of demonstrating how the tabs are used and where they go, but with a little patience, it can be figured out. br>I appreciate how sturdy the box is, as well as the fact that it includes a divider. So far, the suction cups have held up, but I would have preferred to see an actual aquarium magnet instead. The top, on the other hand, doesn't seem to want to stay closed in a moderate flow area, so a clip or latch would be beneficial. This would be ideal for breeding and rearing older fry in a freshwater setting. Guppy fry would slide right out of the holes on the top and sides if they were brand new. br>Overall, it appears to be a worthwhile product; I'll update the review in a few weeks to see how the box performs. 9/12/19.
Because the product is delivered disassembled, it will take some time to put everything together. Because the instructions are mostly pictures, they aren't the easiest to follow. However; The parts themselves make it simple to figure out how to put them together. You will need to provide your own screwdriver, and the protective film may be difficult to remove in some areas. Overall, I liked the puzzle aspect of it!br>br>It's nice and sturdy, with a divider that allows you to shorten the length of the box if necessary. Water circulates freely through all of the holes. allowing the fish to sense each other's presence and allowing uneaten foods and waste to fall through the main filtration systems to be picked up and cleaned.
The customer service is excellent, but there are two issues I have with the box. br>1) The parts that secure the screws into the box are not all drilled in the same spot, preventing you from securing all sides because some are too short to line up with the box's holes. br>2) This box's suction cups aren't very effective. After one of them fell on a bunch of frags, I had to sit it on a rock to keep it secure, and the other one crushed my crown leather coral colony. I'd be too afraid to use the suction cups if there was a fish in the box.
It took me several minutes to open because it was so well packaged. The high quality of the parts as well as the fantastic/simple design (for such a low price) pleasantly surprised me. The only drawback was that, because it was so well wrapped and packaged, I spent more time removing covers and bubblewrap than I did putting it together. I would have expected something like this to cost two to three times as much, and I can't recommend it highly enough. Once tightened (securing screws on the inside of the container), the suction cups hold incredibly well. Even when submerged and surrounded by bubbles, the lid remains closed. The plastic is of excellent quality and has a high degree of transparency. I found exactly what I needed.
