In the screenshot below, you can see a nice dark background, and I'm sure it will look great set up correctly. It must be applied, first, and another product needs to be purchased separately to do so. It is unclear whether or not it was mentioned in the description, but when I opened it and realized that, it was disappointing. The paper felt a bit slippery when wet, so I tried to glue it to a window to see if it would just "cling", but it didn't really work, so it's not very easy to use. I don't think it is worth the risk to do it, but some reviewers have had some success. The fabric comes rolled up, and you have to handle it very carefully once you unroll it. In the end, it will crease a little if you bend it a little bit. The damage is not permanent, but you will have some sort of "mark" or "divot/crease" in the background then. When the light hits it, it makes the dark background appear more vibrant and adds interest to the photo. In the hands of the meticulous aquarium person, this could ruin the look completely. In several youtube videos, it has been suggested to use black posterboard, so that is what I will use. Aside from the potential drawbacks, this product just has too many points against Although it looks awesome when done correctly, there can be too many problems in the process for it to be considered a success. This product is definitely not something I would recommend.

I bought the Marina Clear View Background Solution before attempting to apply this background to my aquarium after reading some of the reviews. I decided to tape it on instead, as it turned out. It was too difficult for me to apply the background with sticky stuff all over it without getting sticky stuff all over my wall and making a mess. Since my aquarium is not set up yet and I am about 5 inches from the wall, I felt it would be difficult for me to adhere the background. To make the background fit my 29 gallon tank, I had to cut it. The glass was barely covered with clear shipping tape, which I used with care. There are no people who can see the backside of the tank, which is good. I was able to keep the background anchored by using the filter as an anchor (the background is sturdy enough that it didn't move around much). There was no crease on the paper. My soapy water and credit card worked very well in removing most of the bubbles from the roof. It looked like it would stay in place. The color of my tank is great and gives it a nice look.

The scotch tape that was used to secure it to my tank is not removable. This tape does not affect the aesthetics of the background and holds it firmly. The package arrived quickly and in good condition. Quite pleased with the outcome!.
