Questions & Answers

These are for a 600 gallon tank that I just purchased. Can silicone caulk be used for a fastener, or do you have a better alternative?

It hasn't caused me any problems since it was simply inserted into my tank. I have a 20 gallon tank, not a 600 gallon tank. I can understand why you would want to have all the pieces fastened. You will want to make sure to use aquarium approved silicone if you choose to use silicone as a fastener. My sincere hope is that it helps!

How can I know if this is safe for ?

The product seems to be safe in water, but I am not sure? This product was used to keep lizards in vivaria that were dry. At first it looked pretty good, but after a while some of the surface fell off the lizard's claws, causing lots of polystyrene balls to form, so I had to remove them to avoid him ingesting them while eating. However, I do not think fish would do this, so it is probably more a matter of whether it would release anything harmful into the water, which I am unsure of. Where is the best place to ask about aquariums?

The dimensions of the expo terra tank are 36 x 18 x 24. Will this work with this tank?

I was able to put it in my tank with no problems

Can this supply a basic horizontal 15-gallon tank with no problem?

The tank will be too big for a 15 gallon one

Reviewers seem to think that it's way better than it is
4/5

My experience so far is that it looks far better than the reviews lead me to believe. I can't speak for how it will hold up over time as I only got it set up last night. An aquarium with a clear bottom is better than one with a clear bottom. don't like all the cords hanging in the back of the photos, nor do I like the stick-on My 75 gallon terrarium would be better off with better edges when it comes to mixing up edges. Since I could not find one that was the right size, I got 4 of them, covered the seams with fake plants, and had to cut them in half to get the right size. The natural and cool look my terrarium got from it worked perfectly for me. Despite my satisfaction with the product, I gave it 4 stars since I had to fix the seams and because they weren't It seemed like they were 11 or 12. Five times seventeen. So, the sides of my barn were left with a few gaps that I attempted to fill in.

A true representation of color is not possible
3/5

The foam is not the popular desert sand color you see in the picture, so I gave it a one-star rating. One star is taken off for this item because for a piece of foam and some paint, it aren't outrageously expensive, as I'm guessing it cost the seller less than $2. Next, let's take a look at Since I do not have a lid on my tank [because lids block part of the UVB, so your reptile is unable to absorb enough] I did not want to risk my beardie climbing up and escaping, neither did the length fit my 90 gallon tank. In the end, I was left with too much space to cover, so I cut the backdrop in half and put them both on either side of the tank so my beardie could no longer see As I only have 18 inches of depth, the 36 was the perfect size. I ended up purchasing a cheap background from eBay for $12 and I'm absolutely thrilled with the end result and so is I highly recommend her hiding cave where she has a lot of living things in the cave, and where she enjoys chilling out. When it is feeding or sleeping time, she climbs her way to the top of the foam and rests there until it's time to feed. I am updating Those things don't go well for your dragon, who is growing. It has been about a year now since my daughter started climbing and when she tries to climb the foam crumbles leaving about a dozen black balls everywhere. Due to the fact that I have cleaned up most of the debris, the last picture doesn't look so bad. Her weight is too heavy for it to hold up, so she cannot climb it any longer. My first thought was to glue it, but if she poops and the liquid falls through [like she has in the past], I will be left with a stinky aquarium. Afterward, I considered velcro dots, but then that would leave too much gap between the foam and the glass. This may be thrown out by the end of the week.

I bought two of these for my 55 gallon terrarium and was very disappointed with them. I'm sorry, but this is It's simply a cheap piece of styrofoam that has been painted very poorly. I will be back as soon as possible. I've attached a comparison of the two photos.

It looks great, isn't it? Despite its simplicity, I adore the appearance of the To fit over my reptile carpet, I had to trim it down
5/5

I used foam to make the fake plants from the craft store, and I poked wire through it to attach it to the craft stand. Only downside to it was having to move the basking area to the front of the tank so the foam does not get hot and melt. Also, my full grown beardie loves to dig her nails into it and climb on it, leaving little pieces of foam all over her and the tank. In the end I like it and it looks so pretty on her tank!.

That's great
4/5

It took forever for the shipment to be shipped due to this con- There are 19 pieces of The backgrounds are easy to cut, look great, and are relatively easy to work with. Since I could not find an 18x18 piece that fitted my 40 gallon tank, I had to buy two pieces to put next to one another. If you put two blocks together side by side, they will not merge seamlessly as there are bumpouts and the background is slightly different. I had to cut about 1 inch from the height if you put two blocks together. Although I was slightly off on the colors as well, I am a fan of the product and have bought.

Rather pretty but a little hard to use for young It is not difficult to cut and fit the wall
3/5

The piece of foam I used was the right size for my 40 gallon terrarium and I had a foam cutter. My problem is that my leopard gecko is sometimes going behind the wall and even going up the wall a few times a day. I'm afraid he will get burned from the lights when he climbs to the very top. I'm afraid he will stay for hours. I must also deal with this problem when he is hungry. If you want him to leave the wall, you'll have to open the top of the terrarium. My fear is he might get hurt if I flip the latches. Despite my best efforts, the baby leo took up residence at the very top of the terrarium while I cut the piece perfectly so it fits snugly into the terrarium. It would be easier to cut the cord that I'm trying to cover from the top, but then it would show all the cords. For the top, I think it would be possible to use a specially formulated spray foam that is safe for reptiles and paint it. I would also be able to cover the sides in the same way. There seems to be a lot of trouble involved. While the leopard gecko is a youngster, I plan to keep the beautiful backdrop and hope that when it becomes an adult it will be useful. The stick is what I'm going to use- A rock shelf is a good place to put his paper until he grows up.

Those who look at things from afar are deceived! There was no redeeming quality to this

I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone. It looks nothing like the picture used to show off the product. It is way too expensive considering what you are getting. Check out the pet store and see the item in person to determine whether it is what you are looking for. It is on my mind to create my own 3D background, and I encourage you to Making something better yourself is not as hard as you might think if you put in a little time and effort.

I was glad I found this product
5/5

It was of high quality at an affordable price. It came with no background when I purchased an exo terra 18x18x24 terrarium used. The one I finally found cost me only 12 dollars and fit perfectly. I searched all over the internet for one at an affordable price. There is no need to trim. Having said that, I have one complaint about the background, as I have with all the others, and that is the wire cut outs on the back and the top, which allow my smaller frogs to get stuck behind them. In order to fill the holes, I would appreciate some small pieces of matching foam to fill them if you are not going to use the product. Bubble wrap works well in it and I've just stuffed bubble wrap inside it.
