I purchased this background because it is thinner and lighter than the background I purchased at a local fish store. This means it will not curl, and will stick to the glass more easily since it is lighter and thinner. The background has to be trimmed a few inches on either side to fit perfectly, but the reducing can be done after the background has been attached. To smooth the bubbles out, I used Seaview Mounting Solution as the adhesive. You'll also need a paper towel handy to wipe up the extra liquid that gets squeezed out after applying the adhesive. As I trimmed the background, I had my 12-year-old hold one side of it while I trimmed and then he helped me hold the glass flat while I was pressing it to Only 10 minutes were needed for the entire process, and the result is fantastic!.
I purchased the 16 x 32 for a 29 gallon tank. Despite being the perfect height and length, there are about five extra inches that you can easily trim. It just blends right in as I left it wrapped around the corners. For shipping, it was shipped in a sturdy tube to keep it from getting creased. In my opinion, this is the perfect finishing touch to my tank, and I'm very pleased with it. In case I needed to buy again, I would easily do so.
In a nutshell There are a lot of things I love about this background. 1) Spread a thick layer of Petroleum Jelly at the center of your tank's back. You can now spread it evenly on the back of your tank with toilet paper, or you can use a paper towel (I would steer clear of paper towels because they have microscopic glass fibers, 3) Now place your background on the back of the If you see bubbles, use a plastic putty knife, credit card, or metal ruler to smooth them out.
4) Tape the edges of the background with a clear tape on the back of the So there you have it, you are ready.
I ordered the largest size which would fit two tanks of different sizes. Both of them were able to fit out of it, and I was able to cut it to size. It was definitely enough for me to have 29 and 50 gallon tanks. Sea View looks great, instead of tape. According to instructions, use tape, but I used Sea View. In addition, I used the black side with the white sand, and it definitely looks better.
It was easy to install, but it is hard to see in the pictures. You have to apply petroleum jelly to the wall to stick it. It has been two months and it is still looking.
It is great to see the This paper is thick enough to prevent creases, but thin enough to make it easy to work with. The blue or black side can be used to create a "back wall", providing a strong barrier for your fish.
I am unsure how to paste it on the fish tank glass if I am wrong, please let me know how to do it. It seems that there are some bubbles, as can be seen That didn't go over well with me.
To fit one side and the back of my 20-inch aquarium, I had to trim the corners.
