6 inches is the length of the handle. I don't know that great danes have very large teeth, but I do know that they have sharp bite. The brush I use is just right for my small dogs and they weigh under 20 pounds
That would seem to be the case. well on our 40 and 60lb dogs. We used it on our 7 pound dog but it didn't quite work as well as it worked on the larger dogs.

Yes, I do not use these for dogs. They are perfect for little autistic kids as well as kids in general. It is because I've used the three way dog brushes for the past six months that my children's teeth have resulted in so much improvement. When my dentist asked me how they got so much better I told him how I made them laugh. My girlfriend laughed but also told me to keep doing what I was doing so these are great for kids because the regular three-headed toothbrushes made my kid's gums bleed because they were extremely harsh. These work just like regular brushes for children and they are great. Try them out!.
