Both of my dogs became sick after eating four cans of dog food , and for the next one and a half, had diarrhea and vomiting. The cans were in date, but I could see the cans had been dented over half way through. Nothing else changed, and they have eaten this food before just fine. The 4 I used did not smell bad when I opened them, so I'm not sure if it was a bad batch, or if it was someone in the batch that spoiled. The dogs are now eating a different food and are no longer experiencing any problems.
A lot of the time, my husband cooks chicken or beef for me. We will sometimes have to give him dog food if we are going to be out for most of the day (I did mention he seemed spoiled) . There are a lot of dog foods on the market, but this is the only one he eats. When we buy locally rather than through Amazon, we save about 30 cents per can.
We no longer feed our dog dry dog food because he is older. The brands, flavors, and gravy/no gravy, and veggies we have used have all been different. Pedigree Chopped Dinner is a real treat for us. The poo in her stool seemed to turn into normal poo again. I will cut to the chase and say that I stopped feeding my dog processed dog food. I make homemade dog food with quality meat and veggies along In addition to her coat gleaming, her breath smells much better, and yes, her poo seems much firmer than normal.
These are the three little dogs I have, and they love them. The majority of the time, I divide one can among them. Besides wheat bran cereal, I add wheat bran cereal per advice from my veterinarian to help their number twos.
