STPP is a suspected neurotoxin in high concentrations, as well as a registered pesticide and a known air contaminant in California. It's called poly because it's made of plastic.
My senior rescue dog is a wonderful dog with as many negative characteristics as she does positive ones. It was difficult to find food that met both her needs and her desires. She has a limited number of teeth, suffers from irritable bowel disease, and has a particular taste for certain foods. br>br>Since we rescued her, she's only eaten canned food. She developed IBD and couldn't eat or throw up frequently, losing a lot of weight as a result. Hill's food was prescribed by the veterinarian. She preferred canned food but refused to eat the moistened dry food, which was slightly less expensive. br>br>We discovered that Iams is safe for people with IBD after doing some research. We bought a few cans, and she seemed to enjoy them. It didn't make her stomach/bowel problems worse, and she hasn't had any problems in several months. br>br>I can't speak for the taste, but she seems to enjoy it. I cut it up for her because it was quite thick. It also lacks the noxious odor of canned dog food. The price is reasonable, and my daughter has regained her weight. This is an excellent meal.
It is the only dog food you will ever need. I finally found a dog food that my dog eats all of the time, even when he is sick. It's also delicious. How did I figure that out? My dog goes straight to the bowl and does not pause to consider it, as he does with other dog foods. br>Recently, my dog became ill and lost all interest in eating. He is a young man of fifteen years. He returned to a healthy diet after switching to Iams lamb flavor. Thank you, Iams! br>If you want to, you can send me some free samples. If you do, I'll donate them to a no-kill animal shelter in the area. I'll buy the items you sent and donate them to the shelter as well.
My dog is allergic to beef, and when I first bought this, it was a chicken-only product. It was out of stock during the pandemic, so I had to use Hills Science Diet chicken barely, which worked fine but was more expensive. When I saw this was back in stock, I went back to it, and my dog has been sick. I've been having a lot of stomach issues and diarrhoea. After rereading the ingredient list on this can, I noticed that it now says "meat byproducts" rather than "chicken byproducts," as it used to. After switching back to a chicken-only diet, my dog is back to normal in a matter of days. If your dog only eats chicken, you should be cautious.
Hills changed their packaging and prices, so I had to switch to IAMs. Thankfully, IAMs are a good fit. My boxer, Kona, was feeling under the weather and needed some good dog food at a good price. Refused to eat or drink anything dry. Core wet food, a moist pate, was the first item I bought. With dry food, combine thoroughly. It was quickly devoured by the dog. The situation has improved. On sale, Core cost $3 per can. Dog was addicted to a little water mixed in with her dry food. As a result, I tried IAM's pate, which is significantly less expensive. Because it's not overly moist, it doesn't mix as well with dry, but it gets the job done, and my dog still can't wait for daddy or mommy to fix it up. In conclusion, IAMs produces high-quality dry and wet dog food at a reasonable price.
My 13- year- Even though my old rescue dog is a picky eater, she will eat this food. It's a big plus that it doesn't contain peas, lentils, or potatoes (at least not in significant amounts). The FDA has expressed concern about dogs eating peas, lentils, and potatoes, in case you hadn't heard. Some breeds are said to develop heart disease as a result of them. Maybe you're the one.
This food's chicken flavor is a hit with both of my dogs. To get one of my puppies to eat, I used to have to feed her by hand, bite by bite. They've evolved into miniature vacuum cleaners who lick their plates clean. br>br>By the way, they didn't care for the beef flavor, and I refuse to buy anything that contains lamb, so I can't give it a rating. Those tiny lambs are taken from their mothers and slaughtered before they've even had the opportunity to run around and play in the sunshine.
In some way, half of the cans had been dented or damaged. This appears to be a sort of clearing house for products that aren't sellable. This type of damage was not disclosed prior to the purchase. It was a huge let down. This isn't something I'm going to order again.
