Questions & Answers

Is it necessary to keep the food refrigerated?

FLAVORS does not need to be refrigerated, but it will keep its flavor better if it is. The product must be used within one year of being opened.

Is there a cat-specific version? Thanks. ?

Thank you for contacting me with your query. We do have Ocean Fish FLAVORS that are labeled specifically for cats. To locate the item, look for the product code 'B01N1Z3OJK' on Amazon. Also, the Red Meat , Chicken , and Ocean Fish FLAVORS are 100% safe for cats, and we have a large number of customers who have already purchased for cats.

In terms of the expiration date, how does this stack up? Is this something that will last a week? Month?

Thank you for contacting me with your query. FLAVORS has an expiration date of at least 9 months from the date of purchase if it is unopened. The FLAVORS powder does not need to be refrigerated once opened, but it should be used within three months. FLAVORS will last up to 6 months in the refrigerator if kept refrigerated.

Is this something that could be done with a chew toy for a dog?

Thank you for contacting me with your query. This is dependent on the toy, but there are two ways to use FLAVORS with a chewy toy that we recommend. To begin, make a broth by combining FLAVORS with water and freezing the mixture in the KONG toy (as is done with an original KONG toy). The second method for applying FLAVORS to certain chew toys is to make a paste with a small amount of water (similar to toothpaste consistency) and then stuff the toy with it.

dr If you're at a loss for what to do with your picky ass dog, this is the book for you
5/5

It works. I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to come down here and recommend this to anyone who has a picky dog. I have a 10-month-old Schnoodle rescue who I've had since she was four months old, and feeding time has always been a challenge for me as a dog mom, no matter how good the food was, how many different toppings I tried, or how many times I took her to the vet to make sure there wasn't a medical reason for her pickiness. She'd refuse to eat on several occasions, causing her to vomit yellow bile/acid due to an empty stomach. After only 24 hours, the dog began to lose weight, which is extremely concerning for a 14-pound dog. I had to order this, and I'm happy to report that she has devoured every meal I've served her since then, always in one sitting and within 5-minutes. In just ten minutes, I'd gained weight! **Many thanks to whoever created this; it's fantastic! ** If you're using dry food like me, I recommend a splash of warm water and allowing it to soak in for about 2 minutes before feeding. When I left the kibble dry, my dog simply licked the powder off of it and did not eat it. br>br>Con: if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is not the place It's not a big deal because I plan to buy this by the truckload, but the packaging claims 44 servings per bottle, which I don't understand because I use the recommended measurement of 1 teaspoon per cup of food. It's more along the lines of 20-percentage-points.

Not at all like the commercial
3/5

It bears no resemblance to the photo. Apart from the sticker in the photo, there is no label. I'm not even sure if it's safe to use. This is not something I would recommend.

There are options that are both better and less expensive
3/5

This product had no effect on my dog. If you live near a Trader Joe's, try their liquid chicken broth concentrate in little packets; it tastes like sawdust. Combine a packet of double-strength and a packet of single-s Fill a fine mist spray bottle with water and use it to clean your eyeglasses. 5 - 1 pump = 10 pumps A whole meal can be made out of 5 cups of kibble, and your dog will go crazy for it. It's also a lot less expensive to use!.

Another great way to make my spoiled dachshunds' dry food more interesting! My dogs adore the broth made with this finely milled powder! It's SO SIMPLE! br>br>I'm always trying to come up with new ways to spice up my dogs' dry dog food
5/5

César wet food is only given to them on special occasions or when I'm too lazy to prepare it, but otherwise they eat dry food. My late papillon Gigi was a picky eater, and I spent an eternity trying to get her to eat, as I mentioned in many of my previous dog food reviews. (She'd like something for a while, then get tired of it or it'd be discontinued, and I'd have to start looking for something new. ) )br>br>My current audience isn't as picky! Gillie once asked for a "Slow Down Bowl" so he wouldn't eat it all in one go. He was a stray, and it's clear he had a hard life on the streets for a long time; he also used to stuff as much food into his mouth as he could, then take it somewhere "safe" to eat it; That place used to be up on my bed at times. (Oh well. )br>br>I serve a 1/2 cup scoop of dry dog food to my two dachshunds, and then I have a variety of ways to dress it up. The first I tried was Himalayan Dog Chew Powder, a fine powder made from yak's milk, lime juice, and salt that had hardened into a rock-like consistency. Initially, solid rectangular chews were used, which were then ground into powder. (By the way, the chews are fantastic; check out my review of them. ) ) I sprinkle the powder over their kibble and stir it in, lightly dusting each bite. br>br>They seem to enjoy the extra flavor, licking the bowl for every last drop, especially Sophie, my long-haired black-and-white cat. A mutant and-tan "mini" dachshund that is about the size of a medium corgi, not exaggerating. She's got a glandular problem or something, because she's obese, and we can't figure out why, despite numerous tests, diet (she was on prescription dog food for a long time, and it didn't help), and exercise; she gets exactly what the smaller dogs get (my parents have two "classic" wiener dogs like Gillie), but she's almost twice their size! (I go off on a tangent quite frequently. ) )br>br>The next option, and the one I've been using the longest, is to add a small amount of a cholesterol-free, heart-healthy blend of canola, soybean, and olive oil to their kibble, which is high in Omega-3 fatty acids. 3 ALA. They enjoy it because I stir it until it coats each bite. It gives them beautiful, lustrous coats and eliminates Sophie's dry skin and dandruff, which caused her to itch and her fur to frizz; It's silky now, and she appears to be less insane. Finally, we arrive at FLAVOR, a natural flavoring powder. I was worried that the gang wouldn't like it because the Etta Says brand Liver Flavoring Powder received a unanimous NO vote. The texture was thicker and flakier. This is a powder that is even finer than Himalayan powder. I add a little water, stir it up, and voila! I have a delicious (albeit somewhat thick) broth! Back when it was bitterly cold and snowing (in HOUSTON! ), ) For a warm treat, I reheated their broth. They enjoy the broth so much that they drink it before they eat. br>br>The broth is made with just a dash of powder, and this jar has lasted us a long time despite the fact that I don't use it every meal. The flip- I have to be careful when adding a dash because the top cap opens the entire lid. I don't bother to measure it out with anything, though the lid is open like that to allow you to use a measuring spoon. br>br>As you can see, I like to keep things interesting for them. This FLAVOR powder has made me so happy that I've added it to my Subscribe list. Save automatically Every other month, you will receive a shipment. (I'm thinking of increasing it to three months. ) )br>br>How can I tell how much Gillie enjoys it, as well as the oil? This guy, who used to eat like it was the first and last meal he'd ever seen, is now WAITING PATIENTLY for me to finish whatever it is I'm doing to it. When it's time for dinner, he's right beside me, waiting for Sophie the princess to be served royally. I put Gill's food in his bowl, he sniffs it, and then STEPS AWAY while I stir in the oil or make the broth! Oh, hold on, this food isn't ready yet; I'll WAIT! he says.

THE PERFECT PRODUCT FOR YOUR CHOICE DOG! Over the last few years, our 11-year-old dog has become extremely picky about what he eats
5/5

For the majority of his life, he has been on a prescription diet food, along with home cooked poultry, due to severe gastro issues. Rice, of course, can be rather bland for him, and we can only do so much to spice it up because he has tummy allergies and such. We tried the natural flavored food sprays and received positive feedback, but as with all nutritional experiments, it's never a hit-or-miss proposition. (Those turned out to be a big miss! The Basics powders, on the other hand, are AMAZING! We started with the peanut butter because he couldn't get enough of it with his daily meds. We went ahead and bought the chicken flavor after such great results, and he loves it just as much as the peanut butter flavor. I'm going to place another order right now and see what else is available. My only "complaint" is that the lid should be a shaker lid instead of just open, but that's minor. I made a gravy for him by mixing the powder with water as instructed, and he enjoys it. For anyone making the gravy, I reduced the amount of water slightly and it was still too thin in my opinion, so I decided to microwave it to thicken it up, which worked perfectly. the ideal level of consistency Sure, why not? If you do this, make sure it's completely cool before giving it to your dog, and then store it in the refrigerator. These products are HIGHLY recommended for picky dogs! —do not stop making this!.
