Fortunately, I was able to put away the bowls that came with it because the bowls I had fit perfectly inside. The water bowl is kept covered with a couple of folded up paper towels. My dog can use it so easily. Everything about this set was great, until I noticed a discoloration in the bowl I put water in after a month. There is a distinctive rough rust spot on the wheel after a month! We were only using it for two months before it began to rust. I suggest stainless steel bowls for this set! The revisions will. Magnus, our German Shepherd, injured his neck a few weeks ago, so we wish we had purchased it sooner. After doing some research and finding raised bowls help ease and illuminate the pain in his neck, I have decided raised bowls are better to put in dog eating and drinking bowls. The size of this bowl is perfect for our dogs and it's the perfect size for water and food. It seems to be reducing his neck pain because he's not straining so low to eat or drink. He's 11 years old and sometimes hesitant to try new things, but he loves this bowl. He's not reluctant to try new things, which I appreciate.
