My son is 11 years old and I just adopted him We have a golden retriever and a boy who are months old. It was all about the food for him. It was inhaled so quickly that I became concerned he would suffer from bloat or other issues. I feed him between 1 1/2 and 2 cups of water per day. Approximately 2 cups of kibble will fit in this bowl in the morning and in the evening. He was seriously slowing down due to the delay. It is very durable, whether it is plastic or melamine. Even though he hasn't thought of chewing on the bowl, he has no intention of doing so. A bowl that fit nicely into the opening of my elevated food stand just happened to be this one. He has had much more peace of mind during mealtimes thanks to this. As for getting into all of the crevices, he does not have any problem with it, but getting into small openings does take him some time. I think you found the perfect The bowl is excellent and I highly recommend it!.
The size of her meal has doubled, while the feeding time has gone down to 4 minutes at most. In spite of the value I expected, I would have liked to have had a bit more time to enjoy She had been speeding up so much that I am now trying to find a bowl that will slow her down. I am very impressed with the bowl's quality and construction. The mat, which we also bought on Amazon, fitted firmly into the BESTLE Large Dog Bowls No Spill bowl. The collar doesn't fit perfectly, but I would say it's a pretty good fit and doesn't move when the dog consumes food. It is possible to place the bowl directly on the ground, and we have done that when traveling abroad On a smooth surface, round anti-slip pads are located around the bottom of the bowl to minimize slippage. There is a slight delay in feeding time from a dog bowl to a fountain bowl, however. In the past, my dog would inhale her food, but now she has to scoop them out with her tongue more carefully. Every time she fed, it was getting quicker and quicker until, after we got the slow feed bowl, I felt like she was finishing just as fast as she used to. On the basis of the value to function ratio, I gave the product three stars out of five. In my opinion, there are many options to choose from on the market, and choosing one was difficult since we had no idea how much our dog would be slowing his feeding time. These bowls are not cheap, and I believe we will have to trial and error finding the right bowl for him. In an ideal world, I'd like to see these bowls come with a level of difficulty and have basic experiments behind it to determine the exact level of difficulty. It is unlikely that I will make my dogs feeding time last an hour and frustrate her however, I anticipate that a rating system such as easy, medium, and hard may make purchasing these products easier in the future for consumers who understand their dogs'.
My dog does a great job of slowing down when he eats from this bowl. In the description, I appreciated that accurate measurements were included, which helped me determine that it would fit on a riser that I already own. As a result, a new riser did not need to be bought. There are about 1 and a half cups of food per feeding for my dog, so I fill the bowl nearly completely. As long as the amount does not change, I will just fill it up with whatever is left over after he finishes the "first round". I have only one issue with this. He has difficulty reaching the kibble that's in the center of the star. In order to fix this issue, I temporarily placed a plastic dog food can sealer over the star as I filled it with In addition to being challenging to handle by hand, it also proves to be very difficult to wash by dishwasher. Thanks for the purchase. I am very satisfied with it.
So that's that. Although I like how cute this bowl is, I'm confused as to why rubber feet are attached via holes in the bowl. In case one of the rubber feet gets lost, the bowl will have holes that will drain liquid. Rubber feet fit through the slot inside the bowl and are held in place by a plug that's slightly thicker within the bowl. For people who feed dry kibble, this may not be a problem, but for raw and wet feeders, this is certainly a problem. In certain places, the plugs on the ends of the feet are in the smallest triangles between star points, so any dog chewing on it may have a bit of difficulty doing so.
There's no way I can tell you. In all honesty, I really don't know. This slow feeder adds 2 minutes to the time it takes my dog to eat. He takes a lot longer with a slow feeder from Outward Hound. It's because we have a stand for his other slow feeder so he won't play with it (especially if it's plastic), and also so it doesn't slip away from him while he is eating. As well as being a puzzle-solving dog, My gobbler is a smart dog as well. As a result, he has been taught to use a variety of puzzles and toy treat dispensing toys, so I believe this bowl does not slow him down as much as other bowls. There is not as much detail in the pattern as Outward Hound bowls, and also since it's a smaller bowl, kibs stack up on top of each other so he has more food in each bite than with Outward Hound feeders. In general, it slows him down, but not a great deal. It's hard for me to judge whether or not it was worth it or if it will help prevent bloating. My stands measured perfectly and so it fit a perfect, but I am not sure if it was worth it to invest in it since I'm not sure if it was a good fit.
In order to find one that will fit in the holes of the elevated bowl stand, I went looking. The size 8 fits my hand just perfectly. There are 5 holes of 5" diameter. It is actually quite simple to keep her old bowl in the stand and the slow feeder sits perfectly in/on top of the old one. So the bowl of the slow feeder stays in place this way. You should definitely give it a try! So far, she has not had any trouble getting at every last bit. It is fun to see her trying to get all the food out. I am so happy to find this site.
