IRIS USA Elevated Feeder with Airtight Storage

(JK). I filled the container with about 30 pounds of kibble. It is in a semi-finished state. I made it transparent so I could see how much kibble was left. My wife feeds the dog most of the time, but I usually buy it. "We're out of dog food!" I usually hear when this arrangement is in place. It's never "We're out of dog food" or "We're out of dog food for a few days. " Now, when I'm watching TV in my undies, I can look over at the container and think to myself, "Hmm. Instead of going to the pet store in the middle of a thrilling episode of the Golden Girls, I should buy some dog food. ".

After rearranging the kitchen, we replaced a large wheeled container, also by Iris, that we used to store his food in but was now in the way. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this feeder (the large) can hold a full 40lb bag of food. I wasn't sure if it would work! br>Our dog is about 12 years old, and I've been looking for a raised feeder to help him eat without straining his neck. He's a shepherd mix who weighs around 50 pounds but is on the shorter side for a shepherd, which I was afraid would make him too tall. He's a nervous ninny who is afraid of everything, so eating from the higher bowls took a while for him to adjust to. He had always been afraid of his tag colliding with his metal bowls, and he didn't want to get too close to this feeder, which made it difficult for him to reach all of his food. I filled the food bowl with wet food he can't resist, then broke bits of dog biscuits to get him used to it. He quickly adjusted, and I appreciate the fact that his food now occupies less space on the floor. br>In addition, there is an additional bonus- The dog food bin is no longer mistaken for the trash can. br>You can see if you're running low by looking through the smoke-colored plastic. Even if there is still a lot of water or food in the top, the lid is very simple to remove. When the bowls aren't empty, even my kids can easily lift it off with minimal spilling. br>The food bowls are made of stainless steel and are easily removable for cleaning. They also hold a large amount of water, so you won't need to refill it as frequently as you might think. br>My dog eats about 3 cups of food per day, give or take, and this holds at least 4, possibly more if filled to the brim, but I don't give him that much. br>This was a fantastic buy. It came with tape around the edges that left a sticky residue that I think I'll be able to get rid of with goo gone. br>I'm going to get a smaller version to keep in our travel trailer for shorter trips. This week, my mother-in-law watched the dog at her house, and it was much easier for him to just take his entire food container and bowls with him rather than packing a zip bag full of food. This is fantastic.

This is fantastic! My family and I live in an apartment, so having this dual-purpose container is a godsend when space is at a premium. br>br>The bowls are easily removed and cleaned. The lid can be taken off and cleaned easily. The large container holds approximately 32 pounds of food (filled to the brim with just enough room to close the container). Our dog enjoys eating from it as well, and she no longer experiences as much indegestion as she did previously when eating at a higher level. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. br>br>My dog inhales her water as if she'll never drink again; however, because she's a crazy wiggle butt, water spills everywhere when she drinks. The preshaped inserts that go where the metal bowls go can be found everywhere. Because water gets underneath the preshaped inserts when we refill her food and water dishes, we have to clean them.

However, it isn't completely sealed. This is the ideal height for our yellow lab so she doesn't have to constantly bend her head to eat (which helps digestion). The bowls are made of stainless steel and are large enough to hold large scoops of kibble as well as plenty of water. The bin and lid are made of high-quality plastic, and the lid latches tightly onto the bin. However, because it isn't completely airtight, I kept noticing that my home reeked. I kept washing the dog, her bedding, her toys, and so on, thinking it was just "dog smell," but nothing seemed to help the odor go away. Then it dawned on me that the smell was dog FOOD. Not bad, but not what I want my house to smell like 24 hours a day, seven days a week! I didn't empty the new food bag into the storage area after our dog finished the last of the remaining food from the storage area, as I had done previously. I simply stuffed the bag into the bin (open but rolled up and tightly closed). It worked perfectly and didn't leave any lingering odors. The bags we purchase have a capacity of 16 liters. The contents of the bag weighed 5 pounds and fit in the bin with plenty of room for more, or the bag itself fit with extra room. br>I'm giving it four stars because, while it gives me the height I want, it doesn't keep the food airtight, so odor and the risk of stale food are concerns. So it's not as useful as I'd hoped in that regard.

First and foremost, I'd like to state that I'm using the small size for my 4-month-old kitten. br>br> Now, about this: it comes with two removable bowls that can be washed and replaced, and it holds a 5 pound bag of cat food with a little room to spare. It seals well, though a determined dog could eat through it (it is plastic after all), keeps bugs out if you have to use it outside, and is not too tall for my kitten, so a fully grown cat would have no problems using it. It's made in the United States, is BPA-free, and has fantastic non-skid feet, which are ideal because his food is stored in a concrete room and he's a jerk. This is something I would recommend to anyone who has a small space and/or, like me, a jerkish cat. When he feels the level of his food and water dish is too low, he likes to knock it over, implying that he only took one drink and one bite of food. With the food inside, it's too heavy and large for him to knock over, so team human wins! I have yet to notice any disadvantages, aside from the fact that it is rather long and I had to find a new location for his food, but I wouldn't call that a disadvantage so much as a failure to plan ahead. INSIDE THE LID, THE NON-SKID FEET ARE TAPPED! It took me a few tries to figure out that they just pop into the "FEET" on the bottom of the container with no tools or force, so no worries about needing help, especially for those with hand issues. Overall, a great product!br>br>***picture of cat on leash is just a bonus awesome cat and does not come with product. : P***.
