Since my company started in 1996, I have purchased numerous dog tags (I have 7 small dogs). There have never been any problems until recently. However, the last 5 or 6 I ordered were a complete waste of Even after only weeks of wearing occasionally (I alternate tags according to collar color) and no rubbing from other tags or rough handling (the latest tags came from a 3 lb retriever who sleeps most of the day away) they look many years old with most of the color worn Now I am using another type of technology from another company and won't even use them anymore.

They are as good as or better than the metal engraved tags you can get at pet stores, yet they are less expensive. Of course, you don't get instant gratification and you cannot watch it being made, but I believe the kiosk labels to be rip-offs. It was surprising to get the level of quality I received for the price, as I expected paper thin metal, low quality anodizing, etc, but the tags are robust and have a satisfying finish. Providing you follow the directions clearly stated on the product page, the ordering process is straight forward. In addition to buying them for other purposes, I also purchase them from here. I get these tags any time something that has to hang or attach from a hole needs to be sturdy. My company has used them for key chain labels, valve labels, and other uses. A small hole can easily be drilled larger on the tags if need be.

The first impression I have of them is There is a thick, quality feel to the tags, as well as It has been engraved on both sides in very clear letters. Every collar came with a sturdy ring to attach it to the dog. The ability to engrave my name and contact information on both sides is something I really like, so my name is larger on the front and my information is more prominent A plastic tag with Velcro previously served me well, but I needed to replace it when it was time to replace it & I am going to review these in a couple of months after I have seen how well the tags hold up, but so far they are terrific. Since we had an additional dog, I decided to give these a shot since they were less than 1/3 of the price.

It took until September 29, 2017 for my order of two dog tags to arrive. In my contact with Providence Engraving, Chad was the one who responded. Very helpful and prompt customer service. (I believe my tags were lost in the mail due to all the hurricanes that hit the east coast )He created and sent my tags at no charge to me again. The books arrived in the mail today and I am very pleased with them. In a normal letter envelope, the tags were enclosed. One of the sterling silver and one of the gold stars I ordered were the large star tags. Attaching them to the collars was made easy by the rings that came with them. I am able to read the text without any difficulties since it is well-centered. Lasering on the letters ensures they are not deeply carved into the metal, so it almost feels as if it was sandblasted. However, for 2. I would have liked the letters carved into the rock. A tag for 99 is not something I can complain about. These tags are excellent and I highly recommend them. Although they aren't as nice as the tags you buy from the pet store, remember that they are a fraction of the cost.
