Questions & Answers

What about the front-mounted leash clip? It doesn't appear to make any sense. ?

I'm a certified professional trainer who only trains with front clip harnesses. (That is, if I'm wearing or recommending a harness, it's a front clip harness.) ) This is due to the fact that when walking a dog in a harness, the front clip serves a dual purpose. First, it gives the dog a few more miliseconds to notice when you're turning than a back clip, which makes a noticeable difference for me when communicating turn intent. Second, and most importantly, when a dog tries to pull, it is forced to turn around and redirect its attention to its handler. There are additional reasons.br>br> One example is that our back clip setup allows a dog to lean into the harness, giving them more power to pull, but I could go on and on. Although it may seem counterintuitive, I strongly advise front clipping if you plan to walk your dog in a harness.

Is this big enough for a 150-pound Newfie?

Our Newfie girl, who was recently rescued, weighs 140 pounds. Her chest, on the other hand, measures only 41". The XL fits with a few inches to spare. I noticed this older post, and I'm curious as to how things went for you.

He's a standard poodle, and his chest is the bane of my existence when it comes to sizing because of his hair, he's somewhere between a x large and a large 30-inch poodle. 32 chest?

We have 33 people in our lab. I ordered the large because I have a 5' chest. XL would be too big for her neck.

Is it suitable for a big German Shepherd?

Thank you for contacting me with this inquiry! To determine what size you'll need, measure your shepherd around the widest point of their ribcage and around the base of their neck, then compare those measurements to the sizing chart.

It works well and is less difficult to put on than the standard model
5/5

My mutt doesn't like the leash pulling on the front ring, so I started with the most basic model. I don't do it because if I switch to the back ring, she goes into 'pulling a sled mode. ' br>br>If she freaks out and leaps around the lower attachment point, the leash is more likely to wrap around her legs, but that's her fault. br>br>For two reasons, I switched to the Journey model: My dog has a thin coat, so I wanted the straps going under her legs to be padded as well (only the upper ones are on the basic harness), and the plastic clips on the basic harness only fasten in one orientation, making it difficult to tell if it's the right way or not, which is frustrating when the dog is dancing around because it's time to go outside. The padding on the back straps of the Journey keeps them in the right orientation, and I don't think the metal clip it uses is (In any case, it hasn't been an issue!) )br>br>Recently updated: I still like the harness, but the front attachment point is half worn away after two months of use, as shown in the photo. This is a medium model on a 50 pound dog who isn't afraid to jerk on it when she sees a squirrel or cat. I guess we'll find out how good Kurgo support is once it's gone. br>br>Update number two: After three months, the strap that connects the front leash loop to the harness is about to snap. Update 3: Support has been contacted. br>br> Support stated that the harness would be replaced. After a month (and no replacement), I checked the status and discovered that my case had been closed. I'm contacting customer service once more. br>br>4th Update: The harness has been swapped out for a new one. I'll simply avoid attaching to the front.

This is amazing

This item's quality has exceeded my expectations. I've never had such quick shipping. It was available for one-day free shipping when I ordered it the day before yesterday. The color is a lovely coral as well. For my 38-pound dog, I've tried a variety of harnesses. pitMix (size M) is a combination of pitMix and pitMix. This is by far the best harness I've ever bought in terms of overall quality. I know she'll be safe in this because it's made of solid metal and doesn't have any clips. When stressed, they will not snap or crack! It has a slip-in closure instead of clips, which I like. (At first, this perplexed me. ) The material itself is narrower or simply less than on my other harnesses. It has a nice soft mesh underside that I believe will help her avoid chafing. I can feel a solid metal ring underneath the handle that has padding for her comfort, and the short hand leash for attaching to the seatbelt is a nice extra they included; I might use this for heel training instead of in the car since I already have the kurgo seatbelt buckle. Overall, this is an excellent purchase. I strongly advise you to buy from this seller. The amount charged For a high-quality product, fast shipping is unbeatable!.

For nearly a month, I've been in love with this harness. The inner liner had ripped, exposing a piece of metal that looked similar to the one on the back of the harness where a leash could be attached. This piece of metal had been digging into my poor baby's shoulders, leaving a scabbed up bloody spot about 2 inches wide right at the base of his neck; I only ever put the harness on him when we went outside, so it literally hurt him within a day.

It's a nice harness, but why is it so heavy? Some of my favorite things are:br>- It's a good product

made.
- It comes with a handy handle. (It's a joke, but it's true)br>- It's fantastic that you can choose between a front and a back clip.
- The colors didn't appeal to me, but the blue is a lovely shade that I prefer in person. br>br>Things I'm not fond of:br>- It's a colossal amount of weight! What's the deal with it being so big? Is it lead-lined in some way? I have a small dog, and every time I put one on him, I feel like I'm stuffing him into one of those xray vests- It just doesn't seem like it would be a lot of fun to wear.
- I wish there were clips on the part that goes over the dog's head like there are on the back. My dog despises having things placed over his head, but most harnesses are designed to be slipped over the head and then buckled in the back. It would have been so simple to add one or two more clips up front, similar to the ones in the back, and it would have made my life and that of my dog so much easier. Why did I keep it? br>br>What was I thinking? I was looking for a good harness with a front and back clip, and this one fits the bill perfectly. I also like how well-made it is. made. I'm still on the lookout for something a little lighter and with both front and back clips, but for now, this will suffice.

It was well worth the money

I'd buy it again without hesitation. This harness is built to withstand a lot of wear and tear. My pitbull-mastiff mix weighs 60 pounds. He's a puller, and I'm a small person, so keeping him in check when he gets overly excited takes all of my strength. With the harness on the back, a front clip, and a back clip, this harness allows me to do just that. I always have complete control over my dog, which allows me to socialize him with ease. br>br>As well as the seat belt clip, which has been a lifesaver. From now on, I'm only purchasing Kurgo harnesses. My dog is extremely rough with this harness, and it shows no signs of wear or tear in any of the fabrics. It's exceptionally well-made. Thank you so much, Kurgo!.

My Personal Favorite Harness Style
5/5

This is the second one I've bought. My Akita (who is now deceased) was the subject of the first. He was 102 pounds when he arrived. The XL was the ideal size for him. He disliked having the leash on his neck collar, but he was immediately at ease with the harness. The top panel's grab handle allowed me to exert more control over him when necessary without being overly harsh or choking him by grabbing his neck collar. The second one was purchased for the newest dog, a 62 pound puppy. A mixed breed that appears to be a cross between a Pointer and a Labrador Retriever; Large in size. She has a chest measurement of 32 inches behind the forelegs. She quickly adjusted to the harness and had no issues with it. The strap buckle system isn't as user-friendly as some other designs, but I prefer it because the buckles are metal and won't come undone accidentally once fastened. The lower panel does not chafe the chest or legs of either dog.
