Mine is a little puffy and thick. Both of my dogs adore this bed, which I have as well. Because it is so comfortable, my chi sleeps on his back in it.

He's a senior basenji who's mostly deaf, partially blind, and has canine age-related dementia. dementia that is linked I'm not sure how much longer he has on this planet, but whatever time he has left, I want him to be able to live it comfortably and lovingly. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on the bed because it wouldn't be used for very long, but I also wanted something that would provide him with the level of comfort I believe he requires. This bed turned out to be a huge success! He's a picky little dog who insists on doing things his way (as anyone who owns a basenji will understand). He's been going to bed on his dog bed for years, then sneaking up on our bed and lying between us once we're both asleep. He enjoys being tucked in with a warm body pressed up against him on either side. I've been looking for a bed that will wrap around him in this way so that (hopefully! ) he will refrain from attempting to climb into my bed. He's developed restless leg syndrome as he's gotten older, and he kicks me repeatedly, hard, in his sleep - As a result, I'm desperate to provide him with a comfortable sleeping space that isn't my bed. He's slept in it for the past two nights. For the first time in a long time, he slept the entire first night in his bed! We awoke the next morning to find him still snuggled up in the same position as when we went to bed. We had to wake him up by touching him to get him to go outside, which had never happened before! It was the same last night (the second night with the bed), and I had to touch him to wake him up and get him to leave. This bed has made my life so much easier. My little dog adores it, and the price was reasonable. He's sleeping better than he has in years, I believe!.
He's made a lot of progress, but he's still traumatized. He is ecstatic about his new bed! He's sleeping a lot better now, and he's not growling as much as he used to. He now simply sleeps soundly and for a long time! I have to force him to get up and take his morning walk at 10 a. m. on occasion. This bed is far superior to any antidepressant medication!.
I'm not exaggerating when I say I spent two days on Amazon comparing every version of this type of "anxiety donut bed," reading hundreds of reviews as I agonized over which one to purchase, and with good reason-- Unfortunately, our beloved, arthritic, elderly dog's cancer has returned, and while we wait for her oncologist appointment, I wanted to make sure she was as comfortable as possible. I was relieved that this was one of the few options that would fit her (she is well under the weight limit), and I placed an order, hoping that it would provide her with a pleasant distraction while she slept. br>br>When it arrived, I was overjoyed. I thanked whoever had skinned the Muppets to make such a luxuriously soft bed. I wanted it to be perfect, so I carefully followed their instructions and even gave it twice as much time to puff up completely. I wanted to make sure everything was in place for it to be successful. br>br>With these beds, my biggest fear was not being able to clean them. I'd gladly drive to a laundromat with industrial washers to take care of it if it relieved her pain or brought her joy. We didn't even get that far. br>br> She slept on it for one night, and it appeared to be flatter, but I didn't double-check it. I just assumed it was due to a lack of fluffing in the fur. I couldn't figure out why she didn't want to lie down last night, but I assumed it was her arthritis combined with whatever this new tumor was up to. This bed is entirely flat. br>br> After two nights of sleep. br>br>Because of the pain, she doesn't even sleep all night! I'd say she worked on it for about 12 hours total over two nights, and the center is an inch above my wooden floor. My luxurious bath mat would have provided more cushioning and support; the sides are higher, but not by much, and that's irrelevant if her poor, elderly body is on hard ground. br>br>I'm in even more pain now than I was before I bought it. We brought an old dog bed with us when we moved cross-country, and she adores it. There isn't a country in the world that has as much support as this one. It's been seven years since that bed has been used! br>br>Now I have to deal with returning this useless item when I don't have the time or the energy to do so. I ordered it from this unethically dubious online shopping platform because I needed to make life easier for both of us while I'm dealing with long-term COVID/pneumonia and she's dealing with cancer. Instead, I've made a new annoyance for myself by forcing my ailing, tumor-ridden body to do something it doesn't want to do. The afflicted dog is forced to lie down on a hard surface. br>br>The only positive thing I can say about it is that it is extremely soft. You want to stroke it because the fabric is so soft. Aside from that, it's a complete waste of time. Don't squander your time or money on this.
I bought one of these to see if it would be more comfortable for either or both of my Boston Terriers than their bolster style beds. The short answer is: Yes! The brindle one jumped right in for a nap as soon as it was taken out of the box. They took turns using it that night, with the dominant one sleeping in it the next morning. As a result, I decided to place a second order so that each of them has one. However, I went to a *competing* company and purchased a similar one for a few dollars less, but it was vastly different. This bed is filled with nice, firm stuffing and has small rubber dots on the bottom to keep it from sliding around on the floor. The firm but soft stuffing at the bottom of the bed provides plenty of support for the dog without allowing him to touch the hard floor. The bed stuffing in the competitor's bed was much less firm, and you could easily feel the floor beneath the bed. The furry fabric on the competitor's bed was of lower quality, and there were no rubber dots to keep it in place. I was surprised by the quality difference. I'm going to return the other bed and order one of THESE beds instead. I would strongly suggest it.
She isn't always fond of beds and prefers to sleep on the sofa on occasion. This bed is her absolute favorite! It's soft and deep, and it appears to be very comfortable. She weighs approximately 9 pounds and is a perfect fit.
