My dog seems to be comfortable wearing this harness. It fits as predicted by the measurements. In the kayak we used it on a paddling trip where she jumped in four or five times and stayed afloat, which was difficult in the paddling trip due to the handle. I ordered a large for my 43 lb small Labrador dog and it was a good purchase for the price. Though she was almost able to go one size up, this was the right size.

Those weren't even big enough for my 25 pound puppy Boykin spaniel. 1) 100% would definitely not keep him afloat under any circumstances. 3). Camping is a huge part of our lives, and we spend most of our time at our campsite. Our campground has a dog pond where you can take your pets swimming. My granddog is a miniature Dachshund, and because she is a miniature dog, it does not work. We were excited about it and tried it out in the pool before we went on vacation to the lake, but it didn't work. The difficulty of keeping herself upright made her face go under water and it made it hard for her to swim. I'm not sure why it doesn't work, unless there is just not enough stuff within the jacket itself. It is a sad day for us. We bought it for her so she could go kayaking with us.
