He has a heavy butt and always sinks if he tries to swim without a vest. This vest is easy to do up. Snap clasps lock well, and I love their style. There are many ways to adjust it. It has the additional benefit of being able to run, walk, jump, pee, and poop while it's He swims for hours in this swimming pool. It's the perfect size to fit a puppy under seven pounds

Fitting a 7lb puppy perfectly in XS is a must! I use this life jacket to take my puppy out on boats near Chicago and it is very sturdy and well made. He has been wearing it without a problem and he likes it very much. Doesn't make the little guy overheat, is extremely light weight, so he can still move around easily, and best of all, it floats! It is difficult for my 66lb Belgian Mallinois Pitbull mix to get in the water when it is so hot outside. The reason I bought this was because she is getting into the water at the beach more often and I was concerned First I took her out for a walk with the vest to see if she'd feel comfortable in it, and within 20 minutes the piece of plastic that is supposed to hold the leash had come In those sections of the vest, I should have had stronger stitching because it would have made a very dangerous situation if I were crossing the street or in a heavily trafficked area. Several days later, I took her for a walk by the river and put her vest on over a harness I have for her and clipped her to that instead of the vest, which I would not recommend because of the weak, flimsy strap that holds it in place. For floatation, it helped her float better than she would have without it, but I wish it would have helped her float a little bit more so she would not be as concerned about occasionally having her head diving half under the water. It increased her confidence in the water by the end of the day as she was coming in and out of the river on her own knowing that she wouldn't During the hike to the shore, the handle made it easier to pick her up if need be.
