The velcro is simple to use, but I'm not sure how well it will hold up to frequent attachment and detachment, as well as dog fur, over time. br>br>The nylon is a very thin material. This has both positive and negative aspects. It's great because it's light, small, and won't get too hot in our desert summers. I'm worried because I'm not sure how long it'll last. I've only had the vest for a couple of weeks, so I can't comment on its durability yet.

I had originally ordered a medium (without measuring) but it was far too small for our 45-pound dog. The large is perfect for him and does not bother him in the least. He'll be wearing it outside all hunting season because we live in a wooded area, so I'm glad he doesn't mind.

We ordered this for our 85-pound Airedale because he has a similar color to this and we walk him in Michigan during deer season. We took our measurements and ordered a large based on the measurements listed in the product description. It arrived quickly, but the tabs barely met at his neck and chest, making it impossible to secure. We exchanged it for a size extra large, which is a perfect fit. It's a highly reflective sand that, in my opinion, provides the extra security we need. It's light, so he doesn't get too hot, but it's tough enough for him to stand up and brush. I'll be dressed in a vintage style. Adding more Velcro to it It's made of a type of material that allows it to be adjusted more easily.

I struggled to find a vest for my Shelties, but this one is perfect. It is made of a very thin nylon, similar to a sports jersey fabric, and I like the fit because the dog is well covered but not encumbered by it in tall grass and shrubs. There are two perspectives on this: It is not as thick and durable, so it may snag if your dogs go into areas where there is a lot of deadfall. However, in my case, the light weight is an advantage because my dogs have longer, thicker hair (think collie) and thus do not get hot in this - We wouldn't use a thicker fabric because it would be too hot and heavy if it got wet. This keeps things nice and cool while also being out of the way. In our case, we're passing through some tall, but not necessarily snaggy, vegetation. Mostly, I don't want them to be mistaken for wild game, and this large orange vest does a good job of distinguishing them as household pets. Many of these coats are too short or skimpy in the front, but I like how this one reaches almost all the way to the tail, providing excellent visibility and coverage from all angles.

My Border Terrier weighs 15 pounds, so he's somewhere in the middle of XS and small. I chose the XS because I was concerned that it would not stay on my head while hiking. It turns out I made the right decision; it's snug enough to stay on for the entire 6 mile walk, even when the dog runs through thick brush frequently. Because of the bright color, she is easily identifiable. So far, I've been very pleased. We'll have to wait and see how long this lasts.

We now slip it over our dog's head because the velcro around the neck area began to come apart after only a month of use. Because it's cheaply made, I'll have to try to repair it before the next hunting season, or if I can't, I'll have to buy a new visible dog vest. It's scratched a lot by my dog, so I'm guessing it's not very comfy. However, it ensures that he remains visible. We take it off him when he comes in the house, and only use the velcro under the belly area now, so the neck area doesn't rip any further. I wish I could explain to him that getting shot would be a lot worse than wearing the silly vest. It isn't waterproof, but it keeps him from getting soaked as much when it rains. br>br>December 2020 Update: After less than a year of use, the side rips as well. I tried my hardest to sew it back together so we could use it during hunting season, but it ripped again and again. It's extremely thin and poorly constructed. I don't want to have to buy a new one every year, so I'm looking for a similar product that will last a long time.

The material has a slight stretch to it, allowing for even more freedom of movement. All of the reflective surfaces do a fantastic job of reflecting light. On the down side, our son managed to chew on the side and detach part of the reflective edging, the strap around the chest, and he put some tooth holes in the fabric his first night of wearing it. br>br>On the plus side, all of the markings on the vest, including the product logo, are reflective. br>br>On the negative side, our boy managed to chew on the side and detach part of the reflective edging, the strap around the chest, None of this is the fault of the product, but buyers should be aware that their dogs can reach far enough to damage the vest. I believe I can repair enough of the damage to make it usable, but I'm disappointed because one of the reasons I ordered this was to prevent our dog from chewing on the chest strap of his reflective harness when he gets bored. When I'm not home, my husband lets him out loose in the evenings, and I want him to be dressed in something reflective so he doesn't get hit on the road. I still believe this vest can help with that goal if some human behavioral changes are made. br>br>Overall, I'd recommend this vest to anyone who wants their dog to be seen in the dark. If you live in a rural area like we do, ordering the hunter orange will give you the added benefit of being more visible during hunting seasons.
